This is one of my favorite Italian places to eat, and I grew up with an olive garden down the street. The food is amazing, the service is second to NONE, and the food put me in labor at the end of both of my pregnancies ;)

The pasta is mushy and overcooked and there is not a professional attitude among the owner, managers and servers. They try to appear classy and are not. Their wine list is a joke. You can get the same wines they have on their list at the Winn Dixie in the Wine section. Nothing special. I would rather drive to Atlanta than eat at any place in the Lee/Dougherty area. There is no such thing as fine dining in this area. It is all small town "tried and couldn't".

In the '70s I frequented the former Gargano's East alongside my parents on weekend nights. I'll never forget Mama Gargano's dance with a bottle of wine balanced upon hear head or the legends of then President Jimmy Carter flying down regularly just to satisfy his cravings for the delicious Gargano's family recipes. The days of Mama Gargano are now long gone but her descendants carry the flame onward at the more quaint and cozy Villa Gargano. Eating here is dark and intimate even during daylight hours due to the stained glass windows. And any curious kid (as I once was all those years ago) can peak over the front counter and watch the chefs spin their pizza dough. With pizza now in mind I must make a bold claim. I honestly feel that Villa Gargano has the best pizza potentially in the country. There's no doubt that it is the best pizza in the southern United States. I have traveled around the United States and Europe and thus tasted my fair share of pizza from around the globe. - A diner from Atlanta GA - Dec-21-2010

Italian dressing=vinegar. Brd terrible. Little meat in the overly sweet spaghetti sauce. Wished desperately for an Olive Garden! - Don Minshew - Mar-16-2011

If you go to Albany GA you must stop at this family owned restaurant. The food and the decor are fantastic. And try the Chicken Picata it is truly a gift to the palet. Another nice feature is the open view to the pizza line where the children (or adults) can watch their pizza being made. - markallenmanning - Jun-14-2005
