GRANT CENTRAL PIZZA EAST
1279 GLENWOOD AVE SE,
Atlanta, Georgia 30316
(404) 627-0007

About Us: The neon sign on the corner announces Grant Central with all the subtlety of an old time theater marquee. Inside, you'll find East Atlanta's most complete pizzeria crowded most hours of the day. The enormous single room is open to the kitchen, with booths and tables against rustic exposed brick walls displaying eclectic art. Pizzas like the Cardiac Arrest (featuring pepperoni, spicy sausage, meatballs, ham, and extra cheese) made Grant Central famous, but the menu has expanded over the years. Subs, salads, and a few vegetarian items round out your selections.

Good Pizza. The only thing is that I went in there with my parents and the music was so loud that it was unbearable. We could barely hear anything anyone was saying. It's not like I'm some stuffy old coot, it was just so over the top we left and brought our food with us. It's twice now that this has happened.

Real local pizza place: NOTE: The phone number listed for the East Atlanta location is wrong. It's 404-627-0007. The pizza's not cheap (compared to Dominos), but it sure is good. Pros: Great EATL vibe, great pizza Cons: Your best chance of being stuck around screaming kids in East Atlanta

OK so I am not sure what is going on with GC in east Atlanta, maybe they just don't care anymore. The food has become mediocre at best and I can handle that if it werenâ??t for the other issue. It is the inconsideration they display when they turn their music up so loud - the last two times I went there they had the music SO LOUD that my 4 yr old was scared and we literally just had to pack our stuff up and go home to eat. It was only 4:30 in the afternoon and when we 1st ordered there was no music at all, if it were playing we would have left immediately. I would think that they "might" be a little more considerate when toddlers are in the place AND it is 4:30 in the afternoon. Blasting death metal so loud with the base so high that your table shakes is ok but do it a little later. I started going to the other Grant Central (Grant Park) last time we were in the East Atlanta location and they were blasting the music beyond a comfortable level and I will continue going back there. The pizza dough tastes much better and they do not have their music at an uncomfortable level EVER. It is a shame because it the EA location is so convenient but I have many friends that feel the same as I - they will be going to the Grant Park Grant Central from now on. Too bad!

Great value: Always look to the specials board - there is usually something there that sounds so good you'll order it, and everytime you won't be disappointed. This place can get very busy with many Grant Park area residents considering this their favorite place to get a good inexpensive meal.

Great Neighborhood Spot!: One of the best things in East Atlanta Village! Everyone enjoys Grant Central, from the funky local crowd to families with kids. Who doesn't eat pizza? Grant Central is the good stuff! Try the gourmet veggie; loaded with artichoke, sun dried tomato, fried eggplant, etc. yum!

East Atlanta is a great place to hang out. This place is no different. Great atmosphere, but the pizza's not really my thing. I'm mainly a New York Style Pizza fan, and I felt like Grant Central's pizza was too doughy. Also a little too expensive for what it is. I don't see it as any different than Papa John's or Dominos.

Great salads: I've been going to Grant Central East since they opened (I live about two blocks away). Overall it's a good solid pizza joint. The one thing they do above and beyond the call is salads. They do a great Greek salad. Larry

You know how it is when you find a good pizza place and then you just can't wait to go back. This is one of those places. Grant Central is the center piece of what has become a shopping and music night hang out. East Atlanta has grown over the past ten years into a real area of town that people want to see and people want to go back to. The locals have known this for a while and are very invested in their neighborhoods. Most everything in East Atlanta is locally owned meaning the owners most likely live a block away. Grant Central has been providing solid consistent pizza during the entire upswing. Loads of character inside and out don't just grab a slice and run. This is a place you can really hang out in. So stay a while and watch East Atlanta walk by. You'll have a great time.

On a recent visit to this so called pizza place I was witness to some of the worst racial comments I've ever been part of. A young man was unhappy on the amount of time he had waited for his order and insisted he needed to go and couldnt wait for the pizza any longer and asked to get his money back..... at this point the customer service went way south. Arguing back and forth till finally he was asked to leave with quite the attitude and then was told that if he didnt leave he'd end up in jail with the rest of his people. Most unheard of comment I've ever heard. I would recommend all African Americans to avoid this place at all cost. Wait who am I kidding.... All OF East Atlanta Should Stay Clear Of This Pizza Place.... People like this dont deserve anyones business!!!!!
