Wait Schmait! The Pizza Rules!: Look - if you want a tremendous pizza with a side of italian attitude - well ya got it! Take it lightly - these gals are pushing pizza all day to hundreds and hundreds of people. Old School attitude brings old school cant be beat pizza. If you can sit on a Duck Tour you can handle a little wait for this pizza. Just go about 30 minutes sooner than you think - then its not so bad. Its not fast food - its Pizza Regina!

If it's good food you want, welcome home!: Pizzeria Regina. The name says it all. If you grew up in New England, you've certainly heard of this place. Nothing fancy, and located on a shadowy street corner, Pizzeria Regina has ceased to be a restaurant and made the jump to institution. Don't expect the waitstaff to great you with a smile or hold your hand after you finally get through the door after waiting outside for a free table. Just sit down, know what you want, and tell the ladies, or believe me...they'll tell you. The attitude of the servers may come across as hostile, unless you were raised in a typical New England urban area. For those in the know, the attitude is part of what makes Pizzeria Regina feel like home. Now, about the food. Forget it, you can't find better pizza for a better price anywhere. Goes great with a pitcher of cheap beer. Tip well, believe me...once you see how busy they are you'll understand, they deserve it! A nice bonus is once you've finished your meal, it's just a short walk to the greatest canole in the world.

For $1.10 you can get a pizza at Galleria Umbertos and I think that's the best. Regina's is ok but it is not the best in the North End and it is overpriced.

We'll be back!: While on a recent trip to Boston and walking the Freedom Trail, my family was trying to decide on a place to dine for lunch. I decided to ask the local mailcarrier walking down the street in the North End if he could make a recommendation.
He immediately said, Pizzaria Regina". We made our way there and it was the best pizza ever. The service was great and my little boy still talks about Gianna, and he is planning on having pizza from Pizzaria Regina flown to our city on his birthday. When in Boston, you must put this on your list of places to dine.

This New Jersey Italian spent 17 years in Massachusetts and Pizzeria Reginia is by far the best pizza in New England. It is what pizza was meant to be, especially the crisp crust, something that can only be achieved by baking pizza directly on the stone of a very hot oven, never in a pan. It is real Italian pizza like that made in and around Naples, where pizza was created. Any pizza not made like Neapolitan pizza is not only inferior, it's not pizza at all.

I am the world pizza heavy weight champ!: certainly there really is no best. its just an opinion. but, since I am the world pizza champ at knowing everything there is to know about pizza. I know many places just as good as pizzeria regina. if your in the Boston area Bianchis in revere is def. a top 5. santarpios of course is right there too. major sleepers in the boston area are faucis in lynn, a little greasy and pricey but the sauce is sweet and the dough is fresh fresh fresh. montes in lynn under the eastern ave bridge is very good aswell. they have declined over the last few years but the thin crust garlic pizza is off the hook. service stinks tho. if I had t pick 1 place to eat my last ever pizza it would have to be santarpios. the pizza is rustic with that cornmeal on teh bottom. perfect price great sausage and lamb on the brick oven and too boot they got cherry peppers in olive oil. great place the boxing material is nice too.

Now I want to move to Boston!!: My daughters and I just got back from our first trip to New England. We live in Seattle. My youngest said "a must" was to go to Boston to the "World's Best Pizza". Of course we laughed and said everybody bills themselves as the "Worlds Best". However, we did go to Boston and asked a local what the name of the Pizza place was. Without even pausing, we were told Reginas. I have to tell you I personally have never had a better pizza in my life (and I've lived a few years). I am almost angry that I had that pizza because now no pizza even comes close. I cannot just get in my car and drive to get the crisp crusted, pizza. So, I guess I'll have to move there!

Regina's Pizza: My parents lived many years ago in the North End so as children we always went to Reginas Pizza.
As we grew into adults and had moved out of the area, we still only went to Regina's Pizza. The most delicious, we had ever had.
When my brother got married and started a family, You can probably guess what he named his first child. Yes! Regina!
When we would get together, we started taking Regina to her namesake. She would laugh and say "My Dad named me after a Pizza Place!
So you can see that Regina"s Pizza, only on Thatcher St is instilled in our heritage and in our blood line!
Thank you Regina"s Pizza for a lifetime of wonderful memories....The Anello Family!

A fellow who I met in San Francisco but was a Boston native referred me to this place in Little Italy.... Talk about a step back into time, this pizzeria was. He was right on about the authenticity of the pizza being made in the old-fashioned brick ovens. I was solo; so they sat me at the counter which was incredibly uncomfortable, but an understanding waitress finally gave me a booth which is a hotly sought-after commodity in this relatively small hole-in-the-wall joint, but I tipped her accordingly. No other pizza around, California or otherwise, compares to their product..... Also, this restaurant's venue is located in a fun section of town once occupied by the jewish sector who took flight when rumor had it that a freeway was coming in.. The freeway never was constructed and thus the Italians took over. There are all kinds of bakeries and delicatessens with sausages, cheeses, and the like hanging from the ceilings in store after store, along with shop proprietors who literally sit out front of their shops to chat with passers-by. This place is a MUST to visit while in Boston. Wish there a little Italy here in California.

Great Brick oven Pizza. If you ever get the chance watch them put the pizza deep into the large oven which is large enough to put over 20 pies at the same time. The oven I believe is a wood fired oven or coal.. Good pizza, old fashioned establishment with character, good times, don't change a thing.

This is not only the best pizza in Boston, but it also competes with some of NYC's finest! They don't do the greatest toppings --- particularly spinach, which is a difficult pizza topping b/c of all the moisture. But they do have unbelievable homemade sausage --- but their original cheese really is incredible. Also try mushroom and meatball. Flavorful crust, great sauce/cheese/ crust ratio... and the ambiance is hilarious. The waitstaff is curt at first... Just be really friendly and they will return it after a few minutes.

STAY AWAY!!: I finally gave into the buzz surrounding this place...I truly wish that I hadn't. First of all, the place is simply awful: small, cramped, EXTREMELY DIRTY, and very badly lit. The service is a travesty as well- my waitress was so rude and rough that I only tipped her a dollar (a dollar too much!). As if the setting and service were not bad enough, the pizza itself wasn't even that great! It was rather burnt on the bottom, and a little cold when I received it. I really didn't see anything special about it that could have even differentiated it from Domino's!
STAY AWAY.

Regina *IS* the best in Boston: Regina's is the best authentic pie in or around Boston. The best crust, sauce and cheese. Some of the pizzas go overboard with toppings, but if you get just a plain cheese pizza or maybe 1 topping, you will be in heaven.
I believe their oven is charcoal-fired, which adds a special flavor to the pie.
On the other hand, Santarpio's is the WORST pizza. Maybe they've changed it from 'back in the day', but I went specifically to try their pizza and it was 'pub pizza'.
So many people told me how Santarpio's was the best, and I just have no idea what they were talking about.
I've been to Italy and had plenty of pizza there, and while Regina's is not exactly 'Italian' pizza, it is most certainly a fine example of 'American-Italian' pizza.
The grilled pizza at Al Forno in Providence, RI is very good too.

No better pizza in the world!: This out of the way place will have the longest lines you'll ever see at a pizza place, but once inside and you taste the first slice you'll know its been worth the wait. The menu consists of beer and pizza but the beer is cold and the pizza is so special you'll find it ruins all other pizza's. There are other Pizzeria Regina but none compare in the taste of the pizza, the inside is small and in poor shape, it is clean and surprisingly comfortable. The price is fair and what is to be expected in Boston. Only real drawback is the wait on the weekend nights, 30-90 minutes is not unusual. So get there early and plan on a little wait, your tastebuds will thank you.

The Best Pizza In or Out of Boston!: Pizzaria Regina serves only pizza and drinks, but a line forms outside almost every night. Why? Because their thin crust is a meal unto itself. Because every ingredient is fresh and seasoned just right. And there are plenty of them, no matter what you choose. The waitresses are casual, even loud, but quick and cheerful. It may go on forever, and should.

99 times out of 100 the pizza there is outstanding -- full of the right balance of flavors and nutrition. The beer on tap is great, too. They've got a TV for watching Sox games as well, though it's tucked over in the bar area. Anyway, it is the rare occasion that the pizza is not excellent. I've had one bad Za there in countless visits. While it was edible, the crust had turned into a cracker-brick from being in the oven too long, giving it also a burnt taste. I should have complained, but was too hungry to wait for another order to appear. No Pizza in Boston compares, although that popular dive near the Fleet Center is also excellent and cheap. The other downfalls for going to Regina's are the sometimes long lines and the horrendous parking situation in the North End. If you go, be prepared to hunt for parking for over an hour, pay an arm and a leg of a garage spot, or risk the real possibility of being towed from an apparently open spot that has some quirky stipulation that gives Boston the right to impound your vehicle. That said, take the T from elsewhere and go before the rush. You will NOT be sorry. Two thumbs up for Pizzeria Regina.

Every pilgrimage to the North End begins with Regina's and ends at Mike's Pastry. Pizza is baked in an oven shipped over from Italy- it is as old as the hills. Not the right place for Boston's Pizza: Regina's is like a bad Dominoes. Take it from someone who is from Boston. Try any family owned pizza/sub shop on any given corner in Boston and you will have better pizza. If you want the best pizza in Boston go to Bertucci's. The pizza at Bertucci's is baked in a brick oven and is one of only a handful of restaurants in the United States to offer true Neapolitan Pizza and have been officially certified by the Associazione vera pizza napoletana of Naples, Italy. I moved to Texas 10 years ago and I miss Bertucci's. You can only get this pizza around New England, unfortunately.

Pizzeria Regina IS pizza in Boston: In my 50+ years, I've never had better, anywhere on the East Coast. I've been away for 11 years... and it seems even better than I remembered.

This place is a do not miss!: Yes you might have to stand in line outside, but it is worth it. It's part of the whole experience. The waitresses are quick and the pizza is the best around. Don't forget to walk off all the pizza you ate and head over to Mike's Pastry after.

The North End, yes; the mall places, no: If we are talking the original shop in the North End, it is on everybody's short list. A wonderful place to go.
There are string of them in malls and at Quincy Market, best to avoid. If you are at Quincy Market, walk over to Haymarket Pizza instead.

Regina Is #1: Being a life long Boston area resident I have had the opportunity to try alot of different pizza places. But one place simply can't be beat. Pizzeria Regina is the best bar none. I'm glad they have decided to expand, I now have a Regina about a mile from my house. Stick with regular cheese or one topping to enjoy the flavor of the pizza.

amazing... but steer clear of the mall ones: The one in the north end puts out the best pizza in all new england by far, but the ones in the mall are awful. However still better then Sabaros in the malls

I was in Everett recently for business and this was my second visit to Pizzeria Regina. It was just as good as the first and I do suggest you try the St. Anthony pizzza, WOW!
The others that say this isn't pizza, well they must live sheltered lives. Keep doing what you are doing Regina!

Still the same: I remember going to this place as a kid growing up in East Boston.
Just went recently (after 30 years) and found it exactly the same atmosphere...even some of the same waitresses. The pizza as thin and cooked perfectly with homemade sauce and just right oven dust.
It brought back great memories...RD

Pass It By: A major disappointment. When visiting Boston for the first time 4 years ago I made a special point of eating at this "local institution"; the pizza was unexceptional.
I returned to Boston last month and decided to give it another try. What a mistake. What pizzeria with any integrity would serve a pizza with half the bottom crust encased in charcoal? Besides that, the unburned half of the pizza was run-of-the-mill tasting. On the way out I looked at other diner's pizzas and about a third of them had tops that were similarly blackened. Try someplace else.

WOW, so many reviews. A friend of mine invited me at Reginas' pizzeria. He actually saw them on Phanthom Gourmet and the Phanthom gave them good reviews. So he wanted to check out their pizzas. He was driving, it took us a long time to find the restaurant, . It was so hidden with all the little streets of the North End. We finally found them, the place looked so small. There was a small entrance. The place was so small, packed and very loud. The staff is not diverse at all it's all white. The customers are also all whites. We got a cheese pizza. Me and my friend were not impressed. The taste was ok but nothing yummy like the Phanthom said. It's was very greasy, the pizza did not look nice and it was a messy pizza. Customer service was not all that either Truereview here to tell you the truth

Galleria Umbertos on Hanover Street is far better: For $1.10 you can get a pizza at Galleria Umbertos and I think that's the best. Regina's is ok but it is not the best in the North End and it is overpriced. The servers are rude. I think people like it more because of the hype.

Yummy Yummy!: This place may be located deep within the North End, but its worth the find, and the wait. This is the first Pizzeria Regina, and is still the best, as far as I am conserned. The staff and friendly and kind. The food is delicious. This is also one of the few places that I know of that brings you a bottle of oil to the table for you to put on your pizza. The price is a fair as well. One of the few spots where you can get a good pizza at a good price.

None of these listed below even compare to Santarpios in East Boston. Not only is the pizza superb, but a large cheese at Santarpios is only $8!! Regina is great, but doesn't compare to Santarpios in good ol Easty!

north end's finest: Straight up Boston served with great sauce, crust and cheese. Wash it down with a watery light beer and a cute little Italian waitress named Giana...ok they are all cute little Italian waitress' (all related) and you'll see why the north end of Boston is the closest you'll get to Italy this side of the Atlantic.(except for the wicked accent!) West Virginia love you Regina's.

Had the worst pizza there a few years ago. There was some undescrible meat on there (turkey liver?). The waitress and manager took a long time, would not replace the pathetic pizza and politely said that they would mail us a coupon for a free pizza. We never received one. Since then, my family and I never go back there. It wasn't just bad, it was GODAWFUL.

Over Rated: People who enjoy Regina are the same who enjoy Mike's Pastry. Tourists who don't know better. Overpriced, and average at best. If you are looking for a good pizza try Bianchi's Pizza in Revere, or Santarpio's in East Boston.

50/50: A lil pricey especially for just a slice but your better off buying a whole pizza for some reason the slices on a whole pizza taste better than the regular individual ones you get.. The one located in South Station isn't the best one to go to too many burnt slices had to take my slices back plenty of times, but overall the cheese pizza is good.

best pizza in boston: we've all heard about the pizza at pizzeria regina. until you actually go and experience it for yourself, you won't know truly how good it is. my personal favorite would have to be the capriccosa....white pizza topped with prosicutto, mushrooms, and cheese. easily the best pizza i've had since being in italy.
pizzeria regina always has a line....but trust me....it's well worth the wait!!!!

I ate here in April 2007 and it was pretty good. Should it be considered one of the best in America? I dont know about that, but I would say its in my top 10. I never had their pizza at any of the malls but common sense tells me that it would not be the same quality as what you would find in an actual restaurant. I would say definitely go if you're in the area but dont make a special trip.

Best Pizza I ever had: The Pizza is the best I ever had. The people are friendly. The pictures on the walls take you back 40-50 years ago, and give the place a nice family atmosphere connecting the US to Italy, which also gives the place a lot of authenticity. Make sure you take enough cash with you (Credit cards are not accepted).

It's hard to find a better slice: Even though the waitresses are snarky, even though the north end Regina has the ambiance of an interstate highway rest stop, it's easily the best pizza around.

The best in the world: I grew up on Boston's North Shore, and moved away 15 years ago. Whenever my wife and I visit, we have to hit Regina's.
Three years ago, a colleague and I were back in Boston for business. I was raving about Regina's and took him. He was beyond impressed. It was everything I had made it out to be, and then some.
Sure, it's busy! Yup, sometimes the staff can be curt. But the pizza is to die for. My fave is the pepperoni, with the crust done just a little extra for a good crunch. The crust, sauce, and ingredients are the best I've ever had (including Santaripos, which is amazing in its own right).
Now my mouth is watering and I need some.
Extra: When done stuffing in pizza, walk around the corner to Modern Bakery (forget Michael's; that's where the tourists go), and experience a slice of their world famous Riccotta Cheese pie (YUM) or the tastiest cannolli this side of the Atlantic.

I have grown up going to Pizzaria Regina's in the North End. It is the best pizza ever! Thin crust with just enough cheese and toppings. They will tell you how it is there. If you a rude inconsiderate jerk, they will boot you out. You are on their turf!
Now i want some really bad!! lol

This is a classic place and I love Regina pizza. I'd say it's the epitome of Boston pizza. However the experiences I've had here have varied. I've gotten sick from eating there once and most other times I feel ripped off. With so many other good pizza places in the North End (and other great food at Faneuil Hall and the waterfront) it's hard to justify the price here. But the food is great and the historical location is a good time. Four stars because they could be a little cheaper a little nicer and heck... it made me throw up once!

I am a fan of the thin italian pizza so I am biased but I just love Regina pizza! This review only counts for the North End location because I know quality is not easily replicated. I work nearby so every once in awhile I get an undying craving for a slice of Regina. If you are solo the thing to do is saddle up at the bar and avoid any lines for booths and tables. Speaking of lines keep an eye on the sporting event calendar. If there is a Bruins game at the Garden be prepared for a line down the street. You can also forget about parking in the North End hood around Regina. (faggetabattit. capishe?). Finally you gotta love the small plastic frosted mugs the beers are served in! What are they like 6.5 ounces?? Just order two right out of the gate to save time. The staff are old school and authentic North End! Diverti!

Pizzeria Regina may be a small hole-in-the wall place located in Boston's North End but they are by far and away the best pizza in Boston. On weekends the line can stretch halfway down the block but it is well worth it. While the waitstaff may be some of the worst that you will experience they give you what you want; pizza. The waitresses are cross rather hostile and at times bordering on rude. HOWEVER this is simply the best pizza in Boston and in my opinion the best I have ever had. This pizza is heaven. The pizza is baked in brick ovens. People don't generally linger at the restaurant seeing as they only serve pizza and drinks but no trip to Boston is complete without a trip to Pizzeria Regina. And in regards to the actual pizza the cheese pizza is perfect. The less toppings the better.
