I don't know where up North you are from but I usually stop into Due Amici once every 7-10 days..... It's local and on my way home,,,,,,I find the place to be very unfriendly,..... I don't think anyone in there knows how to smile and appreciate your business.... as far as the pizza is concerned.... it's OK. Hawthornes and Portofinos run rings around them for tasty, crispy pizza.... AND if you really want to know a secret...there's a national chain "Jets Pizza" in Huntersville that has the best sicilian this side of Italy......

This place has really good food. Sometimes the service is not that good. They act like they don't want to deal with taking your order. But the food is good enough that you forget about the service.

THE BEST PIZZA SOUTH OF BROOKLYN! Everything is fantastic! Rice balls like your Nona would make. Pasta, heros, pizza- regular & sicilian, zeppolies, tira mi su, cheesecake- it is all amazing! It is a true hidden gem. It is the only place in Charlotte to get true NY pizza.

Great Pizza: Nothinng can replace authentic N.Y. Pizza, but this gets really close. It is #2 in my top 3 for Charlotte pizza.

From a pizza connoisseur...... excellent! The dough is tender, not like davincis or Tony's,where when you take a bite half the dough fractures and the slice is pretty much ruined. This dough is fresh and has risen properly. The owner told me he makes his mozzarella on site, and you can tell that he does, perfect texture and stringiness. We had the cannoli's for desert and though we are spoiled (Angelo Brocato NOLA), I can say with all honesty that unless we find an Italian bakery in town we wont find better. Took us five years to eventually try it after all the others disappointed us in the university area. Trust me if your really into hand tossed NY style pies done right then check this place out.

New York style lovers rejoice!: There's no pizza like New York to anyone who loves the style. I've actually had worse in the Empire State and never any better outside. You won't find a pie with ingredients that sound like bad diner fare. Nothing but the classic best here!

Due Amici has the best pizza around... trust me... my husband is Italian and from up north and he's picky about his pizza! They treat you like family and the food is excellent. I love the Spinach pizza and spaghetti with meat sauce and my husband loves the calzones and chicken roll. You can't go wrong!

My family has eaten Due Amici's salads sandwiches and pizzas for years now. They're very popular (very busy at dinnertime ) - because their food is always great. The prices are a value for the generous portions and taste. Slices and whole pizzas are very large.

We moved to Charlotte just over 3 years ago and was told by a new co-worker that this was the place for pizza. Coming from NY I guess you can call me a pizza snob. This place is like being back in Brooklyn without the attitude. The antipasto salad and any pizza they have created will satisfy anyone. There is no other place for pizza now in Charlotte for my money. Go enjoy and you'll be extermely glad you went.

The cheese was good combination of cheeses the sauce was slightly tangy and the pepperoni was delicious. All in all it was a darn good slice of pizza.

The owners and staff are very warm and friendly and their prices won't hurt your wallet. If you want an Italian dining experience we highly recommend this restaurant.
