The BEST pizza I have had outside of New York. Perfect crust, and flavors, plenty of toppings, and just all around good, fresh, quality. Yummy as breakfast the next day too!

Holy bowl'a macaroni! We stopped in with no expectations of this place being an Italian restaurant.Thought, pizza? lets give it a go. Once we scanned the menu we were trying to eat the pics of the food the have. The photos do not lie. They look delicious and they taste even better. We will be back to try the pizza which I heard customers in there raving about on the way out. We tried the rigatoni vodka with shrimp and the zuppa pesce off the menu. The size of the plate the zuppa is served on is enormous along with portions. They are not stingy on the wine pour. We had great service. Our bill including tax and tip was a treat to read being we had an exceptional meal. I would recommend to anyone in a "N.Y. minute" Cool place!

This restaurant does not separate checks for parties of 8 or more. I have never been to a restaurant that did not allow a party (no matter how many) to have separate checks. So beware! Good review only because of the problems with the bill.

Pizza is OK. The girl answering the phone for take out orders does not know much about customer service, I think I was bothering her by calling. Ordered the House Special pizza with no green peppers, she must have been to busy to write that down.

The pizza is good the only thing that really bothers me is substitute some ingredients they charge you extra, "come on now" your customer is always right.

It is a good Italian Restaurant. Not the best in Charlotte as some claim. I have had the pizza (carryout and it is definitely very good). I had a linguine with cream sauce and grilled chicken dish the other night that was outstanding. Unfortunately given the extremely close placement of tables I felt like I was eating in a cafeteria. The lasagna is pedestrian reminiscent of Stouffers and the Chicken Marsala is watery. I think this place is kept in business mostly by people who have transplanted from New Jersey (as the owners have) because they donâ??t hesitate to tell you (and tell you and tell you). Overall a good but not great restaurant.

One of my very favorite places to eat!My grandmother taught me a thing or two about Italian food.I know good Italian food when I taste it. I'm lucky enough to travel and have tasted many versions of Italian cooking. ANGELA's Italian is a definite winner in the Charlotte area.People need to know about this place if they enjoy fine Italian cooking because they do it well. Order an antipast allaangela as an appetizer, you get to sample some of my favorite menu items on one dish, MAGNIFICO. Prices are very very fair for amount of food you get.

My family was dining at Angela's on 3/19/09 for the first time because of a recommendation . First let me comment on the delicious food and great service. They had a full house on a Thursday eve.but this did not interfere with the aforementioned compliment of delicious food and terrific service. Now I would like to address the woman in the restaurant that caused a scene and put a damper on an awesome dinner at Angela's. If you do not know how to conduct yourself in public and do not realize how ignorant you sound in front of other satisfied customers do us all a favor and stay home.I would much rather enjoy the pleasant atmosphere Angela's offers rather then your classless antics. I felt it necessary to write this review and commend the manager for the way she handled that obnoxious woman. This was our first visit but I have a feeling we are going to be regulars . Some of the best Italian we have had here in Charlotte. Their professionalism in running a business speaks volumes.

Having traveled throughout the country for work and pleasure I find it hard to taste quality Italian food. At Angela's you get that quality authentic Italian taste from 3rd generation recipe's that only true Italians appreciate. Furthermore, the price is second to none, period. The first time I ate there I was just going for a pizza pie, but stayed and was blown away at the wonderful hospitality, great food and incredible price. They get a BIG THUMBS UP from me.

Read reviews? YES. Write them? NO.With this being the exception! It was actually a dining experience I had at another "Italian" restaurant that made me give kudos to Angela's.This has become our absolute favorite place for Italian!I love veal and this is the place that I go when the craving hits.In 16 years I have lived here, their veal dishes are best.If you like rib eye as my husband does, he states "it's better and less expensive then some fancy steak house" End your meal with one of their loaded cannoli, don't use a fork!.Go,sit, eat relax, and enjoy all this fabulous place has to offer.

THE BEST choice for Italian food and or pizza in the Charlotte area. Considering where I live, there are a number of restaurant choices in this Italian/pizzeria category surrounding me. Yet, I still find myself taking the drive when I want the best. Prices/portions/location, at first, led me to think "no-frills" type of establishment skimping on important things such as taste/quality/service/ambiance . I've been a customer long enough to write this review and assure you, I was wrong in thinking this might have been a no frills joint. Each time I (we) re-visit them I am reminded how wrong I was. True authentic (eggplant parm and red sauce dishes, mussels marinara or zuppa di pesce are my favorite to order) freshly prepared Italian/pizza is what you'll find here.

I cannot argue with the reviews about the quality of food here. Our issue is with the service. We used to frequent this establishment at least once a weeek and we stopped going due to the slow service. We tried them again tonight and once again received the same poor service. When this was mentioned to the waitress she apparently relayed this to the manager who came out and informed us that becuase their food was so good and fresh that we should expect the wait. I would have expected an apology for the lateness of our order arriving at the table - not hostility. So, although the food is good, with the slow service and attitude of management I think we can do better in Charlotte. Maybe this explains why the restaurant is only 1/4 full on a Friday night (and they still can't get food to the table in a reasonable timeframe).

Five stars is not enough.I have never been to a pizzeria where I can honestly say the whole menu is delicious. OK, so I might not have tried the whole menu, but close to it and have always walked out of this restaurant with nothing but good things to say! Did you move here from NY/NJ area like I did? Then you'll understand my excitement over this place! You must try their Sicilian pie! Mama mia.Tried others and NONE compare. They are Charlottes best.

I fully enjoy everything about this place. The food speaks for itself but the friendliness you receive from this mom and pop restaurant is very welcoming. I have taken clients for lunch and my family for dinner and always leave with the same final result which is = pleased & satisfied. They recently changed up the their menu which includes some pictures of the dishes they make. See the photo of the rigatoni vodka with shrimp and you will want to stick a fork in it.I can attest to it tasting as good as it looks.

Finally, Some reviews that were not blowing smoke up my a$$. I concur with the rest! This is the best! The shrimp fradiavolo is delicious.Their marinara,I want to eat it on my cheerios.Itsa' goooooood! I have been for lunch also and they have free WIFI.For me,it's better then the "bean" alternative. My search has ended for great Italian food w/o a gold sticker price tag.

Angela's is a restaurant I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to all. If you love great Italian food and delicious hand tossed pizza just like New York, you will thank me for letting you in on what I happen to think is one of Charlotte's best kept secrets. They are a bit off the well traveled roads, so find your way now and thank me later.

Being a former New Yorker I am pleased to have stumbled upon this Italian restaurant. I wrote another review on yahoo for them because I believe word of mouth is the best advertisement. After trying out the place I would recommend them to anyone in search of a place to go for an exceptional Italian meal. Good food good servicenice atmosphere and the menu is reasonably priced. We're going back to try the pizza which I heard customers there raving about on the way out. Like I said word of mouth is the best advertisement!

Best Charlotte Italian restaurant (and pizza!!!!) This is our idea of an authentic Italian restaurant and their tomato & marinara sauce is UNMATCHED. Easily here you can actually taste fresh tomatoes. Not that jazzed up spiced up canned tomato sauce flavor. Not a thing here I would not recommend as we have never been disappointed. Tastequality service price portions all reasons worth a drive no lie. We do it and look forward to it every time.
