As a Chicagoan and full blooded Italian, I will tell you that if you really want an authentic italian pizza, then go to Pizza DOC on Lawrence Ave. It really is like a pizza I'd get in Italy, its awesome!!! For Connie's to be in Business for so long they show that they are of worthyness, but I STILL prefer Pizza Doc

As a former Chicagoan, Connie's Pizza is way down on the list of great pizza places in Chicago. The pizza there is good, but is no real competition for places like Edwardo's, Ginos East, Lou Malnatis or Giordanos.

When I was a student at IIT in the 1970's we would often get Connie's pies delivered to campus. It was a descent pie back then, but I haven't had one in well over 30 years. Of course in Chicago if your pie is no good then you won't be in business for long. :^)

More than just great pizza... uhave2tryit...: Best outside dining deck in the neighborhood... Go see Edgar, Ron and Vinnie... These guys just don't take their pizza seriously, they take everything they do to the next level... Kick it up a notch... The Italian beef done right in the store is awesome... the home made, hand made fresh rigatoni is a must have. Spinach Dip, Calamari, and Bruschetta... FIRST CLASS... This neighborhood pizza place provides great dining at a moderate price... If you go... try the Appetizer Flatbread... these super thin pizza's are the best we ever had... They have great specials too for lunch and dinner... It's a place where you can have a great entree salad, or an excellent panini or authentic Italian style sub, or choose from a long list of Italian specialties, like eggplant parmesan, the best lasagna you'll ever have in a restaurant, ravioli that are actually filled with 100% real cheese... and a Marinara sauce that says 'family' every time you taste it... All of that plus GREAT pizza... Thick deep dish on a crust like no other made fresh daily the old fashioned way... and topped like they mean it... If you like thin you have to go with the Appetizer Flatbread for really thin, but if you like thin crust... the regular thin (more like a Sicilian style) is also excellent... and they never skimp on the toppings at Connie's ever... This family run pizzeria is committed to QUALITY and it shows... It's been family run for 40 years by the Stolfe family... It's more than just great pizza... and you know it as soon as you drive up to the place... and walk in or take a seat on the deck... So give it a try... You'll be glad you did!

Great experience, the walls stacked with the tomato tins, and the people, make it very unique. The pizza is good, but not the greatest I've ever had. Still, a good place to spend an afternoon, with friends and family.

Don't get me wrong, Connie's has excellent thin crust pizza, but I would not say they are the best pizza in Chicago by any means. They are miles above the Domino's and Pizza Hut fare, but that is where they stay. In my opinion, the best pizza is usually found in smaller, neighborhood-type establishments where word of mouth is their main form of advertisement. I enjoy Roundhead's Pizza in Downers Grove, IL the best at this time. They have deep dish, but I am not a deep-dish person. They make a delicious, greasy thin crust pizza that is hard to beat. They are at 63rd and Woodward, I recommend them highly if you are local. I also enjoy Home Run Inn because they have a very distinct, yeasty tasting crust. Other than that, they are one of your average choices... And to the reviewer that said Pizza Hut was the best, have you had a chance to go out and try other establishments yet? The Hut is the equivalent to the McDonald's of Pizza, come on! They do make a good stuffed crust cheese pizza though, I will give them that... Also, any true Chicagoan knows that the good Chicago-Style Pizza is thin crust! Deep Dish is yuppie boutique pizza, who ever heard of spinach-stuffed pizza before? Get with the program!

Have ordered from Texas: Best Pizza In Town. The atmosphere is relaxed and great, the staff is curtious and kind. It is an ideal place to watch the big game and enjoy some delicious food.

The best pizza in Chicago: I was born and raised in Chicago and have since moved away. I ALWAYS go to Connie's when I'm in town. Their pizza is the best ever and their Italian Beef sandwich and their pub chips are just awesome. Make sure and ask them to dip the sandwish in the au jus. YUMMM. Service is always great and the atmosphere is hard to beat.
