Who knew?: Buried in the back of the Germantown strip mall you'd never think that you would find some of the tastiest, most reasonable Italian food in Danbury. I am so glad I stopped in. Augies dishes are hit after hit (nothing implied). I would highly recommend trying it. Nice casual atmosphere. Friendly staff. Nice owner. Go!

Great Food, Great Service, the way it should be. A must go to restaurant for "real" Italian food... One of the few remaining real Family Italian Restuarants left in Danbury that can come close to measuring up to the old Magnifico's / later renamed Phil's, Eldorado, and those early days of the Old Oak..

Excellent food and inviting atmosphere!: I've lived in the area for 37 years and they have the best Italian food and the price is reasonable. Ownership changed hands for a while, but it's back to being owned by Augie who is an amazing and friendly person. The staff is just as wonderful too!

It Does not get any better than Numero Uno: This is by far the BEST unkept secret in Danbury, not only is the food intense the service and charm of this resteraunt is fantastic. Owner Augie is a true fan of his customers. You have to try the Chicken #1, when I moved to Arizona for 5 years I had it shipped to phoenix 3 times a year...yeah it's that good.

Augie's rules! My family has been enjoying his food since 1996 and have never been disappointed. Very reasonably priced with great portions. My favorite is the Chicken Parm Sicilian. Make sure to try the garlic wedges and the house-made bread. Great food, great service, what more could you want? Plus; Augie is a sweetheart.

I recently made a reservation for eight people at Numero Uno for 6:30pm. I made the reservation at 2:30pm and our party arrived at 6:20pm. We first were told our table would be ready shortly and we did see an open table for eight at the front of the restaurant. We waited for 30 minutes in the doorway with not so much as a word from the maiterdee. finally after another 10 minutes I had to ask when we our table would be ready and was told the kitchen was unable to accomadate our party for at least another 30 to 40 minutes the maiterdee tells us this as he continues to seat smaller parties of two and three people. The Numero Uno maiterdee needs to work on his service skills and to understand the word reservation. Don't take a reservation if they mean nothing to you. Needless to say we left and patronized another restaurant
