Papalis is great: Pizza Papalis is located throughout detroit and the suburbs, and offers some of the best (and filling) pizzas in the midwest. It has a blend of Chicago style pizza with it's own twist. The pizza isn't as good as in Buddy's, but the variety offered at the restaurant makes it a worthy choice.

Best Pizza in Detroit: I first went to this restaurant in 2000, and my wife and I order a small pie and was unable to finish it. I'm a big guy, so I was floored. The resstaurant has two floors and if you are lucky, you can get a seat that faces Monroe Street and watch greektown pass by.

I love the meat lovers pizza. The taste kind of fell off a lil bit since they started having all those franchises, but this is the best pizza in detroits....forget about that green latern crap, or anything else, pizza papalis is the shiznat. I love there deep dish pizza so much that I would go back to the greektown area just to get one(I live 30 min.south of Cleveland so that's about 3 hours drive). They'll deliver a pizza half cooked and frozen via UPS I believe, so that's how I'll try it next. The service was almost as good as the pizza. I can't think of anything negative to say about Papalis.

I like Pizzapapolis very much, however, it was a real turnoff when I found that they will deliver to the New Center Area of Detroit but not Highland Park which is two miles down. If they do not deliver to Highland Park based on what they have heard, they should think again. They could gain alot of business with delivery if they came here. That's my perspective.

Slice of Chicago Style Pizza in Detroit: The pizza is worth the wait and you will wait - usually a good 45min - 1 hour on a Friday or Saturday night. The location is also excellent because it's close to Greektown Casino - right across the street. The salads are not that good - caesar salad consists of lettuce and sprinkled parmasean cheese on top - that's it. But the pizza is authentic Chicago Style THICK pizza!

It's an all time favorite!: Coming from a pizza lover such as myself, I have worked hard over the years looking for the best pizza in Detroit. While there are many places that will satisfy you, Pizza Papalis is my personal favorite. They have a variety of meals besides pizza, but I can't remember the last time I passed up a deep dish pizza for pasta (which is also good according to my friends). The staff is friendly and the chicken wings are great. I suggest you get an appetizer if you are ordering a deep dish pizza because they take 40 worthwhile minutes. The deep dish pizzas can seem pricey if you get one of the specialties, but once you try one you will realize it is well worth it.

Who in their right minds would accept anything else besides Pizza Papalis as their number one choice for the most robust and filling deep dish pies? Surprising enough, there are a few morons out there... but I bet that they have never had the privilage to sample such a heavenly thing! I always opt for the seafood deep dish which includes WHOLE shrimp and not chopped bits of shrimp. The meatlovers is my second choice because the meat comes in chunks and not little balls or slices. The price is on the high side, but this is the one thing that is more than true to the statement, "You get what you pay for." Why? Because it's rare when a normal person can eat more than just 2 slices of the SMALL deep dish (I'm not even gonna mention the large or medium.. well, I guess I just did...). You can dine in at this location or order out if you are in the downtown area. The atmosphere is really cozy in the restaurant and the staff are on point although it takes almost an hour for your pie to come after ordering, but believe me, it's worth the wait.

Downtown is soo big but Monroe is such an intimate feeling because the buildings are so close. This Is Some Great Pizza: I have had the opportunity to have the Original Deep Dish Pizza Invented in Chicago, and I personally feel that Pizza Papalis taste better! I am a regular there and my favorite pizza is the seafood pizza. I personally do not think it is good for an intimate setting, but great for going to hang out with a few friends and kick back and have fun. Don't sleep on the Big Cookie on the dessert menu either, that is a great cookie!

The best pizza in Michigan: We have been searching for a "decent" pizza place since we moved to Taylor. Craig's coworkers suggested this place. This is definitely the best pizza we have ever had (in Michigan or New York). We ordered a large VIP deep dish. It takes 40 minutes to cook, so we had to entertain Miranda, but the food was well worth the wait and price.

My only trip to Pizza Papalis came on the night of my friend's wedding rehearsal and it was a memorable time at this restaurant. Both food and service was exquisite and since I have returned from Detroit I have recommended it to everyone that has plans to travel to Detroit in the very future. The location to this restaurant is in the heart of Greektown so you cannot ask for any better location. Just a few blocks away is Woodward Avenue with the Fox and State Theatres for shows. Then you have Comerica Park the home of the Detroit Tigers and Ford Field the home of the Detroit Lions just down the street for sporting events. All in all I must say that my experience at Pizza Papalis was out of this world.

I had a great time with friends last night at Pizza Papalis! Our server was great and our food was delicious. The medium sauce on our wings was phenomenal. When I first went to Pizza Papalis I looked at the menu and thought people had to be crazy to spend $15 on a small pizza. I actually left and refused to support a place that would charge that much for a pizza (I now know that a small pizza at Pizza Papalis actually feeds 2-3 adults).
