You gotta love this place. Great pizza! They make a very tasty pie. It is one of my favorite spots while in Jersey City.

Penne Vodka: I always get the penne vodka, I ask them to add shrimp.....awsome!!! and if your in the mood to try one of there best kept secret pizza's, ask for carmine, and tell him to make a Garlic bread with cheese pizza...he's the only one that knows the secret recipe...trust me you'll love it!

Make sure you call ahead, this place is always busy because it's awsome! Always get pizza, lots of different toppings you can't find anywhere else! Great menu, lots of choices.

I discovered this "awesome" pizza place (not your usual pizzaria!). There is no other word to describe or any other that comes to mind BUT AWESOME, as you will read everyone else will say. We used to live a block away, and now live a few blocks further down, no doubt we will still order from them (and we've tried all the pizza places from the area, BY FAR THE BEST)! My bf loves the appetizer of 6/12 BBQ Shrimp and the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. I think their cheese fries are simple but pretty decent most of the time, jalapeno poppers are good, their Margarita Pizza is pretty good too, and even something like their Ham & Pineapple Pizza. EVEN their REGULAR or Xtra Cheese Pizza is GREAT! Great crust!! Not to soft, not too hard and crunchy for those who care about a good crust! Pizza isn't dry either, I've had some pizzarias that skimp on sauce or have not so great sauce, or ditto for the cheese as well (either some skimp or have eh cheese, like too greasy or something). We've also had their Penne or/and Tortellini Vodka, great! And their version of the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with roasted red peppers and mozzarella is fantastic! I've had different versions of this sandwich, this is one of the best, very clean, simple, and yet full of flavor, AND pretty healthy, considering! Well, I wish I could say what other stuff we've had, but as I've read from others here, it sounds like I should try a couple recommendations! Place is a joke when it comes to delivery and store hours... Some places stay open on Saturdays till 1am or even till 3am and this places close at 11pm and stops delivery at 10:30..YOU GUYS ARE A JOKE OF A PIZZERIA, get it together your losing alot of business from late nite owls...

I just had what was the absolute worst customer experience of my adult life at this terror of a pizza place called carmine's. I order a sandwich for delivery and they told me it would be 45 minutes or less. After an hour i decided to call. She told me the driver was outside and should be there any minute. After another fifteen minutes I called back.. this time she said sorry the driver was delayed and is really almost there. Another 20-25 minutes went by when i called back to ask one last time before i left to go get food somewhere else. When i complained about the nearly 2 hour wai for a sandwchich, the woman on the phone started SCREAMING. This is no exaggeration -- It was so unbelievable that i almost laughed. If i weren't so pissed i probably would have. She then went on to tell me: "I'm not responsible for what happens when the drivers and food leave here"... So i politely asked... "You and your restaurant dont take responsibility for your food getting to the customers that paid for it? Perhaps you should reconsider offering delivery?" I think this may have angered her further. This is when she started cursing at me.. and i Quote "I'm the F$%&^ing OWNER and you will not get this food and never call here again. You are the worst F&$^%ing customer I have ever talked to and a F^&$#ing A$$hole!!!. She was screaming this literally at the top of her lungs. So not only is the service just TERRIBLE, by calling Carmine's you: 1. May not get the food you order 2. May be verbally assaulted by the owner There are lots of great places in Jersey city with good food and really nice service. This is not one of them. Avoid at all costs.

Great Place!: Carmines is an awesome place. They have a menu where there is something for everyone. I live right around the corner so its convenient but they also deliver. The quality of the food is great and prices are reasonable. I order from it all of the time. Staff is friendly too. Dave

Tonight I called Carmine's in the hopes of getting a slice of my favorite pizza despite it being a few minutes before closing.
