After the experience that I just had at Bergamo's I really feel the need to write this. I am very forgiving of bad experiences in restaurants because I worked in them for over 15 years but this was by far and away the worst experience at a dining establishment that I have ever had. This is a 10 table restaurant that cannot handle a full house. The facility itself is shabby, unclean, and in general disrepair with trim falling off the walls, tears in the booths, filthy chairs, and unpainted walls. The service was atrocious. It was 20-25 minutes before our appetizer was delivered and an hour before we got our pizza. At no time were our drinks refilled and I witnessed nearly everyone in the place getting similar service. It took our waitress 15 minutes to simply tabulate our bill. Even with all of this had anyone had the decency to apologize it would have made the experience a little better and prevented this review. We had a gift certificate that we pruchased online and because we used it they added an 18% gratuity. Professional ethics would never allow me to include that kind of tip when I knew that my guest had such a horrid experience. I will never go back to this place. In my experience every business has moments where poor customer service is given. How those matters are handled is what separates successful businesses from those that go bankrupt. I would be shocked to see this resaurant still operating 6 months from now.
