It's about average. We ordered a pie. It was greasy and over-cooked. I should have asked fo a refund!!

Best Pizza Ever!!: Read about Virgilio's Pizzeria in 5280 Magazine as one of the top 10 best restaurants in Denver. They recommended and we tried the Garlic Knots, Spinach Pinwheels, Mixed Green Salad and the House Favorite Pizza along with the LaRossa beer. What a meal!! The food was amazing the place was jam packed but the service was great. I just love it!! Will be back with more friends.

Great Pizza, located in a bel-mar strip mall. You may even learn some curse words in Italian if you stick around

The best Italian food in the area! The food is very authentic and reasonably priced. The pizza is great but I love the appetizers from the garlic bread knots to the melted mozzarella and the pasta dishes. You cannot go wrong at Virgilio's.....

BELLISIMO!: Awesome! FINALLY a REAL pizza in Colorado! Growing up in the pizza-spoiled areas in Connecticut, Mass and NY, I'm a pretty tough critic and this is by far the best apizza I've had in Colorado. I had the "Classico" and a the Soprano, and both were done to perfection! The Verde salad is a MUST as well. Topped off with a cold Moretti beer, right off "the boat" and seated near his HD flat panel TV watching the NFL games on Sunday I couldn't have been happier! One other thing that struck me was how friendly and welcoming Virgilio and his staff were. I can't say enough great things about this place! A MUST for any Italian food lover in general, and true apizza lover!!

Worth the wait: Am writing this after listening to an annoying group of people complain about waiting a bit for a seat. The management handled them beautifully and they left happy, but just fyi... I'm one of the most impatient people I know, but I'm willing to wait for the amazing food at Virgilio's. No they won't seat 2 people at a 6 person table, but that's just common sense. Chill out. Relax. Enjoy the garlic scent around you. Look at the menu and be ready to order when you're seated. Or sit and eat at the bar while you watch them make pizzas and pastas. You'd wait 45 minutes or more for a pizza to be delivered during dinner time. Might as well spend that time waiting for a seat and for food 10x's better than anything you can get anywhere else.

We Are Regulars: My husband and I are regulars to Virgilio's. It is by far the best pizza that we have ever tasted (and my husband has eaten A LOT of pizza). Everything is super fresh, from the salads to the cannoli. Not to mention that their pizza crust is a perfect balance of crispy and chewy! Try their house salad with the house vinagarette. It is awesome. Virgilio and his staff are always friendly, upbeat, and very concerned about the well being of their guests. It is a pleasure to dine there, which is why we keep coming back.

I refuse to eat at Virgilio's Pizzeria ever again. At first i loved his pizza, i worked next door for a number of months after he first came to Lakewood. The food is good, don't get me wrong but it is Virgilio himself that i will no longer support. One morning a 90 Year Old man had to push his car into the parking lot because it died on him. Due to his age the gentleman was barely able to get his car into Virgilio's reserved parking without any assistance. It was around 7 a.m. well before Virgilio is open for business, the gentleman talked to myself and left a note on Virgilio's door door front explaining the situation and reassuring Virgilio that he would have the car removed by Noon the same day. Virgilio came in to open shop around 8 or 9 and had the man's car towed despite his knowledge of the circumstances. Also an innumerable amount of underage waitresses have quit specifically because of Virgilio's uncouth behavior towards them. Don't Eat at Virgilio's!

Best Pizza Find In Denver: I keep reading about Virgilio's in the Rocky Mtn News, Post, 5280 etc. I finally made it down on Wed night. The placed was packed and we had to wait 30 minutes and smell the amazing aroma. We finally sat down I asked the owner Virgilio is it always like this on Wed? He said we are busy all the time now, some days are better then others. He recommeded the homemade fresh mozzeralla, spinach pinwheels and the pizza margherita. We also had a very nice chianti. What a amazing dinner. Everything was great and the hard working staff was awesome. Best Pizza in Denver no question. We will be back soon.

The owner use Grande cheese in their pizza's. Just that speaks alone for how good the pizza's are. Only the best pizzeria's back in NY uses Grande.

Its ok. Asked to have switch sauce with a pasta dish and they wouldn't do it. The chef seems to think its better that way, I guess I thought the customer should get to make that summary theirself. SO service not so good. Friendly servers though. Too small, no room. Thumbs down overall.

Perfect Thin Crust: I went to Virgilio's based on a couple of newspaper recommendations and they were dead on in praising the quality of the pizza. It's a NY thin crust pizza that I would recommend. Now, everyone has there favorite pizza whether it is NY style, Chicago style, or some other variety. Several Colorado pizzerias claim to have "the" authentic style but the reality is that in NYC there are several pizzerias and they do not all taste the same. This pizza is very tasty and fresh. The menu presents standard pizzeria fare - salads, pizza, and pasta. The store is sparse with a counter, some tables and a couple of booths and lacks a little warmth. The servers were pleasant but did seemed more like high school kids who weren't sure exactly what they were doing. The proprietor came up to us and seemed to genuinely care about our dining experience.

This dying pizzeria is coasting on old reviews. We used to drive out and pay $$$ for this pie often. The food here has really changed. If you have been eating it all along, you may not have noticed. But, last weekend we felt as if we had bumped into a friend we hadn't seen in awhile to find him 60 lbs heavier, unshaven and rude. Twice now, we've made the trip out to treat ourselves to what we thought would be another great pie. What a disappointment. The sauce, compared to its former richness, is very thin, watery, and without much in the way of flavor. Servers disengaged, crust soggy... yuck. This owner is a piece of work too. Picture "Italian mobster" type with the language to match. I should have guessed after that BelMar Italian Festival snub. We had signed on to receive emails about events and specials. What we get is this defensive owner constantly rallying support for situations where he feels wronged, or boasting about some "big" charity contribution, etc... (He even has one gigantic check for what he apparently considers a large sum of money hanging in the dining area! Overcompensating?) Once, when getting an update on the delayed opening of the new Littleton location, he mentioned how unexpectedly pricy the wine bar was getting but that it would be worth it. The latest tacky email was a surveillance video of some dine-&-dashers who skipped out on a $70. tab. The video is peppered with the owner's crude comments. In the end he tries to pass off the notice as trying to protect the children of this dasher when he is clearly out to catch and humiliate him. All restaurant owners have had to deal with ding-&-dashers at one point or another but honestly, when was the last time you received a video alert about it? He might think about emailing out a coupon or two to his loyal customers instead. And the unpaid bill... $70. + tip. Since when does it cost $84. to treat one adult and two kids to pizza? The owner even uses his mailing list to ask people to pad his reviews for him! I for one am tired of emails asking me to write to publications like 5280 and Westward praising Virgilio's and to support the place by writing good reviews... for what? I suspect recent good reviews to be contrived by an owner who has taken advantage of his customer base because this pizzeria has lost its "stuff." As far as awards for "Best Pizza" these publications may want to reconsider allowing this owner to buy his way onto to list if they want to remain credible.

Best NY Pizza in Denver: I came by Virgilio's Pizzeria at Festival Italiano in Belmar last week. The line was 45 min for a slice? What gives I said to myself. I asked people who eating was it worth the wait? 100% of the people said yes. So I waited as the help and the owner were working hard to feed the crowd. When I finally made to the front they just received a new batch. I tried the cheese (old schoo), white with garlic and basil, meat lovers. WOW!!! I tried to talk to Virgilio to find out more info on his awesome pie, but he was way to busy. I finally made it over to the store and had a fresh pie. My God in Heaven!! I finally found pizza in Denver I said to myself. The garlic knots are off the hook, along with the spinach pinwheels. If your a pizza junkie, this is the place for the best pizza in Denver

Great pizza, great buffalo wings, great service: Not only was the pizza a perfect New York style with fresh ingredients and a great tasting sauce, but the buffalo wings are the best I've had in a long time. It's rare to find great pizza like this, but even more rare to find good, quality buffalo wings. These were not those nasty, deep fried variety; this was fresh wings with a great sauce. The only downside to this place is that they don't deliver. Once they accomplish that, they've mastered pizza parlor perfection.

I've Died And Gone To Pizza Heaven: When someone asks me what my favorite food is and I say "pizza" I know that I am always talking about Virgilios! This place has the best pizza I've ever had, and I have lived on the east coast! Check this place out, we've been going there several times a month for the last year and all I can say is YUM-O!

Best pizza in Denver.: The crust and ingredients are excellent. Salads are fresh and well above average (we like the verde salad best). Service is very personal and kid friendly (little kids offered a toy). Don't recommend the mushrooms on pizza since they are the only thing we have noticed from a can. We had an excellent dessert there as well.

You Must Try This Place Best Pizza In Denver: I was totaly impressed with the Pizza Margherita. I can't say enough about how fresh the pizza tasted. The owner claimed the mozzarella was fresh and it is stored in brine. I can honestly say it was the best pizza I have ever had.
