Za's Pizza. Now that's what I am talking bout!: This unpretentious Bardstown Road pub and pizza joint has a lot to offer. I had the "healthy" pie, the spinach and cheese on a whole wheat crust. The price was not bad, the pie was of a suitable size for the money. The ingredients were fresh and the overall taste was very good. The place has a homey feel to it. It is just a good, down-to-earth pizza place.

Best Calzones In Town: Za's has almost a hundred different import beers from around the world available, and some great beer on tap. The pizza is good, the salads are great, and they have the best calzones in town. It's a great place to watch your favorite game.

Delicious pizza (seriously good) with great selection of brews to swish it down with. Not as trendy as many places on Bardstown Rd, the bartender doesn't ignore you if you don't have your lip pierced and the food is excellent. You can't ask for more at a pizza place, it's the best in the area hands down.

In talking about great Pizza in Louisville most people seem to have Za's on their shortlist. Za's just does it right: deep thick crusts and quality ingredients. This is what a pizzeria is supposed to be like it will make you weep at the thought of chain store delivery pizza. As for what's the best in Louisville it probably comes down to personal preference but the places that compete for the title are all located along Bardstown Road. Za's is a bit pricey (especially compared to the chains) and has a bar atmosphere which can be a problem for families. It can also tend to be full and with a 30+ minute wait on weekend night.
