Cancer Girl Gets Pizza

The news, the trend and the internet were all over this inspiring story that made the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles reject some donations.

Lauren Hammersley has a daughter suffering from Cancer, confined in Children's Hospital L.A. Hammersley sent out a message in the public by taping the words "Send Pizza RM 4112" in her child's window.

A Reddit user then took a photo of it from outside and spread the word, which happened really fast!

Pizza fans and Reddit users then took a step forward and sent out pies to the room, which kept on coming in. More than 20 pies arrived and this caused the hospital to step up and state in their website "You’ve made a little girl very happy but NO MORE PIZZA IS NEEDED,The Hammersley family will be going to bed very full and very thankful for the compassion they received today."

The two year old child named Hazel, has been suffering stage 3 Neuroblastoma, which is a cancer found in children and is treated through chemotherapy.

The parents of Hazel has been very appreciative of the good deeds these random people have done for them, specifically the pies sent out which was shared among other families in the hospital. She wrote in her blog:

“We have been absolutely humbled and surprised by the outpouring of love and support from the online community and can only hope and pray that this brings awareness to Neuroblastoma and the Childhood Cancer Community.”

“Several other children and nurses came into the room, with music playing, and had themselves a wonderful Pizza Party. It was sight that melted hearts like mozarella."
