Cook Book Offers Pizza Recipe for Arthritis

Fight pain and eat right. The newly released cookbook called "Eating Well to Fight Arthritis" presents us different ways and recipes to make arthritis more than just a bearable illness.

The book offers a unique recipe such as Thai Coconut and Barbecue chicken pizza, a simple but a very delicious way to eat arthritis out!

The book is also for a cause, helping Arthritis Association of Louisiana raise money.

“In the last few years, a lot of research has been done on chronic diseases. One of the things we know now is that a diet rich in omega-3s and fatty acids reduces the inflammation that causes arthritis pain,” said Karen Kennedy, president of AAOLA.

The author of the cook book, Holly Clegg, ensured that all recipes are easy to make and filled with omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants that fights arthritis. They also indicate if the recipe is for diabetic, gluten-free or can be for vegans.

“After research and working with theArthritis Association of Louisiana, my goal was to provide easy, practical, and delicious recipes with a focus on ingredients to help fight arthritic symptoms, such as joint inflammation, fatigue and simplify cooking,” said Clegg. “Each recipe in the book has a purpose to target an arthritic symptom while still being family-friendly, affordable and easy to prepare.”

“This cookbook is going to benefit anybody’s body,” Kennedy said. “This way of eating is healthier for a multitude of reasons, and if you have inflammation and pain, it could help to reduce that.”
