Districts Offer Free Lunch Programs for Summer

Twin Falls City Park is the place to be in during the summer for some free lunch that include pizza in their menu list, fresh air and a good social interaction as the schools around give out free lunch to children. Those in south central Idaho locals ages 1 to 18 are free to join and claim food as funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. 

The Lunches are being serves lunch Mondays to Thursdays until August 23 and even free breakfast at the Jerome Middle School from 7:30-8 a.m. 

Salem Keizer District area is also offering summer meals for the same age group. Both Twin Falls and Salem Keizer opens this program to the public, regardless of income. Some areas in Salem Keizer even offer both breakfast and lunch, which Hunger-Free Oregon is the partner. 

This program not only allows kids to eat veggies and fruits such as carrots and apples but they also give out delicious meals such as a pizza! Though the school sites that serve the free lunch change every year, summer meals are continues on this summer. 

Meanwhile at Coos Bay School District, a mobile service for the free summer lunch program is set to fill some stomachs. AmeriCorps volunteers help served the meals and Hunger Free Oregon partners sponsored the transportation. 

The summer lunch program in this area starts at June 24 and will be serving pizza, hamburgers and popcorn chicken. They will also include milk, fruits and veggies in their menu.
