Domino’s Pizza is celebrating the start of baseball season with a promotion that was a big hit last year. They are teaming with MLB.com to give away 40,000 pizzas.
All users registered at MLB.com will be eligible to receive one of the free pizzas. Domino’s has agreed to give away 20,000 pizzas after each of the first two no-hitters this season and next season. This is twice the amount they gave away last season.
“Domino’s is thrilled to recognize and celebrate one of the great achievements in sports – the no-hitter – by continuing this very cool partnership with MLB.com,” said Chris Brandon. Brandon is a spokesman for Domino’s. “This is now bigger and better as we prepare to give away pizzas both seasons, and make it easier for baseball fans to get in on the excitement.”
Registered MLB.com users must be among the first 20,000 to log into the site after a no-hitter is thrown. They will then receive a code for a free 2 topping medium Handmade Pan Pizza. The offer is good for carry-out only. This DomiNoNo offer is extended until 20,000 codes are claimed, or for 5 days after the no-hitter.
Since 1901, there have been only 234 no-hitters thrown. This is an average of just over 2 per season. 2005 was the last season without any no-hitters.
