A new drive thru pizza business is introducing their handmade touch to the area. Heide Maglott is a first time business owner. She, along with her husband opened Slices Pizza and Drive Thru featuring hand-mixed, handmade and hand tossed pizza.
The drive thru is open 10AM to 10PM daily. The shop is open 11AM to 10PM Monday through Thursday, 11AM to 11PM Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays, the shop is open 11AM to 9PM.
Heide and her husband did not have any restaurant experience prior to opening Slices. Heide, however, is a wiz in the kitchen, able to make most anything from scratch. She got her kitchen knowledge from her mother’s cake business.
The pizza dough has the traditional ingredients and one secret ingredient. Maglott says the ingredient is not really secret, since she found the recipe on Youtube, but finds that many people don’t use it when making dough.
While the drive thru is up and running, the shop itself is opening in stages. They currently offer pizza, subs and salads, but hope to eventually add dessert and a breakfast menu that includes cold pizza slices.
Several unique pizza offerings are on the menu including a Coney dog pizza and a Philly cheesesteak pizza. Each pizza is made with Maglott’s New York style thin crust.
When the Slices drive thru had its soft opening, they offered 120 free slices and within a few hours they had 29 orders for pizza.
