The Champaign-Urbana area can look forward to a new mobile pizza business launching soon. Dave Saam will be working with his wife, brother and father to bring Dragon Fire Pizza to the area.
“Our goal is to have our grand opening on Veterans’ Day,” said Christy Saam, Dave’s wife.
The business has a mobile trailer, custom built, to carry the wood-fired oven used to bake the pizzas.
Christy says, “It’s a mobile business. It takes less money for startup and we’re not confined to one spot. We don’t have to make food and keep it hot – we can cook it right there for you.”
Dragon Fire Pizza will serve a Neapolitan style pizza with a crispy bottom crust and soft crust on the edges. Their menu includes cheese, sausage, pepperoni, veggie and custom options. They intend to use local ingredients whenever possible.
Using the wood-fired oven, pizzas can be delivered approximately 5 minutes after the order is placed. The company plans to announce their location via Facebook and Twitter. In addition to going the food truck route to reach their customers, they also plan to attend farmers’ markets and other events to reach the masses. They also will offer a catering service.
