La Gelateria Replaced by Vero

Can a pizza and gelato shop be lucky the second time around?

March-Aurele Buholzer will open Vero, an Italian restaurant, on the same place where a pizza and gelato shop closed last year. Buholzer said that although he will also offer pizzas and gelatos, there will be something new up his sleeve.

His restaurant will be serving a special kind of pizza, the Napolitano. The Cleveland Heights local said that Napolitano pizza is different from other pizzas because of the ingredients. In making the Napolitano, they only use San Marzano tomatoes over a thin and light crust.

He said that aside from this special pizza, he will also be offering different gelato flavors. Customers will have a choice of new flavors to choose from, such as, hazelnut, banana, peanut butter, lemon and pistachio.

But the best sellers will always stay like the traditional pepperoni and margherita pizzas and chocolate gelatos.

The 28 year-old is being helped by his father and girlfriend and aims to hire 10 more people to assist him in running the restaurant.

Aware of what happened to the former pizza and gelato store, he said that he is aware of the risks of opening a new shop. “It’s a gamble to open an independent business, but I couldn’t say that it’s much of a gamble in Cleveland Heights,” he said.

He also loves pizza which was why he chose to open an Italian restaurant.
