Marinakos Family Provides Good Deed With Pizza

Every Christmas, the Marinakos family provides a healthy pizza slice to locals in their area. Their generosity have truly spread among residents as even parents Jill and Matt testify to their good will as they tell the story about their own encounter with the pizza shop owner.

One Sunday, Jill, Matt and their two youngsters had a car accident in front of Tops In Pizza. Fortunately, no one got hurt and due to the rain, they had a chance to meet an unknown pizza joint and the owners of it - Peter and Toni Marinakos.

The owners warmly gave the family a good welcome, providing free drinks and food and ensuring that everyone was alright. Their company was also very much appreciated by Jill and Matt, especially the treatment they gave to the children which removed their trauma from the accident.

Lincoln, who is the eldest son, was not only given chocolate milk but was also given a chance to learn and make their own pizza inside the kitchen.

“They didn’t let us pay for them,” said Jill. “And then Toni drove us home.

“It was just above and beyond good citizenship,” she added. “They made a horrible situation really not horrible at all. They made it the highlight of the week.”

Just like any good citizen, Peter Marinakos tells everyone that this was the right thing to do, even if they didn't know the person.

“It happened in front of our restaurant, so what are you going to do?” he said. “We try to be supportive as possible.”

Last Tuesday, Jill and Matt Koller gave thanks to the Marinakos family through gifts such as an autographed Toronto Maple Leafs Jersey.
