Over 8 months ago, Samuel Yeung and his partner had a dream of opening a pizza store that sold pizza, fried chicken and chicken wings - oriental style, thus Tony’s Pizza and Chicken was born.
Found at 34 High St. in Waldorf, this oriental pizza house offers extra ordinary oriental food such as shrimp and chicken teriyaki. They also present a lot of American food such as pizza, submarine sandwiches, steamed crab legs, steamed shrimp, pork chops, chicken nuggets, crab cakes, salads, apple pies and many more. Their best seller, however, are the chicken wings!
“We sell a lot of chicken wings,” he said. “People have told me they’re the best they’ve ever eaten. That’s feedback from customers. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but that’s what they tell me.”
They also offer a unique flavored pizza, which have been searched for very well to keep their unique flavor and at the same time satisfy their customers. “Our pizza, we kept on changing the recipe until we came up with the final recipe,”
The business wasn’t just because of a dream, in fact, what pushed Yeung to open the store was his friend.
“He asked me to go open the store because he had just bought a lot of property in Capital Heights and two other restaurants,” Yeung said.
This pizza and chicken restaurant has made its popularity within the locals, where customers stay in love with their recipes.
“So far, we are doing a lot of business with people in the community,” he said. “Most of our customers are repeat customers from this area. Then they tell their friends. People tell others about us by word of mouth, creating a lot of new customers.”
So what’s next for Tony’s Pizza and Chicken? No one knows yet, but I hope they create an oriental pizza for a change!
