Starch Madness: Hermosa Wins

Pizza fanatics know best! This year, the Lintz Brothers of Hermosa has just won the Starch Madness, surviving in the final round against the crowd favorite Piesano’s Pacchia.

Customers have given excellent reviews on Lintz Brothers, a pizza-eatery located in Hermosa. Fans have said that ‘Lintz Brothers’ pie have a unique taste that cannot be matched by any others.’ A fan had raved about the cheese of the pizzeria, ‘Best ever, over 1 pound of cheese on their large pizza.’

 The contest starts every February where they receive and get about 300 nominations for all the pizza places in Black Hills. Those who will get into the top 16 will be placed in brackets. To advance in the next round, they need to get the higher scores against the eatery they are paired with.

The final four pizza places in this year’s Starch Madness were Lintz Brothers, Piesano’s Pacchia, Beau Jo’s Pizza and JD’s House of Pizza.

Those who were nominated in this year’s contest had varying opinions on why they were nominated.

Phillip Minder of Piesano’s said that, ‘One thing that separates us is that our mozzarella is not shredded but sliced.’

Meanwhile, for Lori Betrand of JD’s House of Pizza declared that, ‘It’s probably the best sausage I’ve ever tasted… Our Red Hot Bull Fighter Pizza is pretty popular for people who like spicier food.’

However, Lintz Brothers still stick with the classic pizza business philosophy of, ‘great crust, balanced sauce, even toppings and a wonderful staff.’

The other contestants were Pizza Hut, Sam & Louie’s New York Pizza and Papa John’s.
