The largest pizza parlor in the Rio Grande Valley is moving. Stefano’s Brooklyn Pizza is relocating from its gas station location into a stand alone facility.
Stefano’s is famous for its 30 inch Brooklyn style pizza. They are currently operating from inside a gas station located off Business 83 and Dilworth Road. The location they are taking over was previously home to Lone Star BBQ.
The BBQ restaurant closed in 2011. Stefano’s owner Mustafa “Steve” Shehada purchased the building and expects renovations to be complete by July. The newly renovated restaurant will have free Wi-Fi and three dining rooms. The 10,000 square foot facility will have capacity to seat 170 people.
“It’s going to be a great place,” Steve says. “It’s going to be one of the largest restaurants in Harlingen.”
While the restaurant will maintain much of its old favorites, Steve is planning on adding additional entrees including more Italian choices as well as steak and seafood. The restaurant originally opened 2 years ago and has quickly become one of the most popular restaurants in Harlingen.
The old location will remain open but will offer Mexican food and rotisserie chicken. Expansion of Stefano’s outside of Harlingen is not in the plans yet, but popularity of the restaurant makes it something worth thinking about.
