The streets ain't gonna be dull anymore as more and more brands are out to open their food trucks, rolling out their brick and mortar baked pies just as their original restaurant. Theo's Neighborhood Pizza is one of those that would be expanding in wheels after their three local branches.
Now the streets are about to taste cracker crisp crusts in food trucks.
"I spent a decent amount of time in Austin," said owner Jammer Orintas "and I love going to the food trucks. Nobody was doing pizza in the city. I thought there was a void."
The restaurant features a real kitchen inside a modified old FedEx truck that has a 2,000 pound oven similar to their original restaurant.
"We want to do it exactly like Theo's pizza," he said.
The mobile restaurant however will have only three kinds of pies available, a meatball sandwich and a salad. Additionally, another dilemma of the owner would be the permits on the food truck as he only hopes to get out the streets through Mardi Gras - just until the truck is complete.
Of course, the streets won't be the only place you will find Theo's pizza as they also plan to show up at festivals, private events and even parking areas of bars.
"Who doesn't want pizza at 2 a.m. outside a bar?" he said.
