The Best of Cold Dough

Pizza is one of America’s favorite dishes, so preferred by many that it makes billions of yearly sales. Just last year, reports have stated that over $3 billion pies are sold just on frozen pizza!

But the question remains, how tasty are those available in your nearby supermarkets?

Though there are take outs to replace the frozen goods, these pies aren’t exactly like your Italian treat. The consumer report revealed however, that there are a few pies that prevail in the hearts of many.

The top spot for both flavors belong to Home Run Inn Classic which is full of fresh-tasting sauce and stretchy cheese. It was even highly compared to fare better in quality than that of Domino’s and Pizza Hut’s.  The only downside is, it is loaded with fat and calories compared to other variants.

For a better alternative, Consumer Reports recommend the Red Baron Singles Deep Dish as a better choice when it comes to nutrition factors laden in its pastry-like crust with noticeable crispy edges.

However, Consumer Reports also found that cheese pizzas are more nutritious than the pepperoni variant as the latter contains more sodium and fat. As per report of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 90 percent of Americans have more sodium consumed than that of a recommended healthy intake.
