Every year, managers among all Pizza Hut establishments are evaluated with their performances, checking who is the most consistent and who exhibit business excellence within the year. An award named after the former chief executive officer of Pepsi and Pizza Hut, Inc. is given, entitled “Donald M. Kendall Award.”
This year, Bill Miller of Pizza Hut Kendallville was selected among 6,100 general managers, displaying remarkable leadership and business results seen in customer satisfaction scores, food safety ratings, training data and overall sales and profits that put them in the top 2 percent.
For 22 years, Miller has worked very hard in Pizza Hut. He started with a position from the very bottom – a dishwasher. Seven years later, he was promoted as the general manager and continued to fulfill his duties in excellence for 15 years. In the recent International Pizza Hut Franchise Holder’s Association spring meeting, Miller was chosen to be part of the top 5 finalist who execute outstanding performance.
So now you may ask, how does Miller create the balance between leadership and business excellence?
The secret to his outstanding success has come from his experience and his motivations.
“Do what’s right for the customers. Take care of the customers and take care of your employees,” he said sharing his motto in management.
Along with 80 other employees, Miller celebrates his award through Customer Appreciation Day happening on June 12 at the Kendallville Pizza Hut branch.
