The Childhood of Chelsea Clinton: Pizza Only Allowed on Weekends

We often wonder how it feels like to be the sons and daughters of the most powerful couple in the country.

Chelsea Clinton, the only daughter of the former President Bill Clinton and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, tells us that growing up with powerful parents was not much different from growing up in a normal family.

Chelsea said that her parents set clear rules inside the house and expected them to be followed.

Among the rules were watching TV for only 30-minutes per day, pizza and cartoons are only available on weekends.

One thing she loved the most is that media and meals were “shared family experiences.” The family talked about news, movies and television shows.

She said, the conversation she had with her parents helped her become more open-minded and critical of what was being aired.

Her parents only allowed her to watch one-hour TV shows when they moved to the White House. That show was ER. But she spent most of her time playing old-school computer games with the former president.

The parents were also strict with the media when it comes to covering Chelsea’s movement. They wanted out of the limelight as much as possible.

However, she did not entirely escape media scrutiny. But it doesn’t seem to affect her that much; saying. “Thankfully I had grown up in public life and knew that having thick skin was a survival skill. I do also believe if you the right type of enemies you’re doing something correct.”
