Touching Story: Empty Stocking Fund Helps Pizza Delivery Guy

Most pizza delivery drivers right now may have the possibility of having their employment endangered as some restaurants are already cutting the hours. One of those pizza delivery victims of the hours cut is a father of two children who has been in debt in rent since it started. Relatives of the said driver tried to help but months later gave up.

The organization called The Empty Stocking Fund gave over $200 to a family.  This money covered the rent so the family would have more time to find additional work..

This campaign ran over the holidays where funds are used to help families such as the pizza delivery driver, and can also help others with their rent, power bills, heating costs, medical needs and other expenses. But this funding is only for assistance of those who cannot be assisted of other charities and checks are only given to the vendors of which the individual needs to pay to.

Over $54,479 was reached last year, completely to the Athens Banner-Herald Empty Stocking Fund.
