Raw pizza: I don't care for raw type pizza. I think this place has possibilities, but I have been there a few times seeing that it is rated so high and I get the same raw pizza. I do know there are people that like raw dough in their pizza's and if you like that, you will love this place.

Mini - Nos: People who rave about this place either remember it fondly from years gone by or don't know any better. After trying this several times over the past few years the verdict is...it ain't what it used to be. The sauce is OK but the crust has a tasteless, cardboard-like consistency. The cheese is rubbery and falls right off the slice - not creamy and stringy like good pizza cheese. Many of the local Pittsburgh chains tend to undercook, but Mineo's goes in the other direction and often overcooks almost to the point of burning. Take it from a former pizza shop owner in another city known for pizza - this stuff ain't what it's cracked up to be.

Pizza is most tasty when hot: Mineo is a jewel of Sq.Hill and provides some of the tastiest cuts of fresh pizza in the area. The Pizza is chewy and the sauce full oregano base flavor compared to the sweet sauce of an Aiello's or Fiores Pizza. When served hot....Its hard to beat Mineo's

I would give this place 10 stars.: This place has the best pizza in THE WORLD. We do not live in Pgh anymore, but when we drive through - we always stop and get a pizza... we also buy extras and freeze them. NO ONE CAN MATCH IT... Their white pizza is really good - but their pepperoni pizza is out-of-this-world. You will not be disappointed.

just okay: Locals love Mineo's in Squirrel Hill, but as someone who didn't grow up with it, I have to say... meh. It's greasy, salty, no better than average pizza. Reminds me of the food you'd get at an old-fashioned pizza parlor in a strip mall- the kind that's died out in other cities.

It's a classic: Everyone in Pittsburgh knows this place because it's such a big part of the culture -- all the kindergardeners say it's their favorite pizza place, while the adults can still go there to get a classic pasta dish or a bottle of wine. It has a classy but casual atmosphere that relaxes it's customers.

Mineos has been and always will be one of the best around. Sweet sauce, tons of cheese, and a great crust are the same as it was twenty years ago.

A Pittsburgh institution. I consider their pizza to be the best in the city and judging by the number of folks that drive considerable distances to partake of the bounty I'm not alone........

The only pizza to eat in da burgh!: This is, by far, the best thing there is when it comes to pizza in pittsburgh, and don't just take city paper's word for it. All the ingredients are fresh. The Pizza there is amazing. I grew up eating it and trust me, once you start eating here you will be hooked.

While Mineo's may have dropped off slightly, I still think they do an outstanding job. The cheese is unmatched, the crust is fantastic and the sauce is still way better than average. They keep their prices low and will always be a landmark in Pittsburgh.

M m m: While going to central catholic high school, I would sneek away during my free time to grab a few slices of heaven. I now reside in Florida and am forced to choose between Domino's and Pizza Hut. I will pay anyone any price to overnight a pie to me. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee?

this pizza is BAD.: WHERE do you keep your tastebuds? In your pants pockets? "Yinz" guys need to go outside of here and try GOOD pizza. I will choose Pizza Hut over mineos, and I HATE pizza hut. There is all this hype surrounding this place, but it is obviously voted pittsburghs best due to the neighborhood it is in and the liberal people it caters too (ie... city paper readers). The crust stunk, the toppings were skimpy, the sauce was tasteless and the cheese was not all the way melted. Can anything else be wrong?

I don't know what the fuss is. My in-laws love this place. It's just average at best. We've actually had this conversation at work. It greasy and everything falls off when you pick it up. I'm not a big fan.

Mineo's Pizza House: This is the ultimate best pizza in all of Pennsylvania. It's a treat to have pizza from Mineo's. I was raised on it and there is nothing like it ANYWHERE!!!!

As a child I remembered it as the best pizza so when visiting recently had to go back to see if it was the same. Still the best anywhere. Yes, there's tons of cheese and olive oil - to me that's pizza. I even brought a half baked one home for my husband who grew up in Squirrel Hill. It just can't be beat.

After reading the numerous customer reviews stating how good this pizza was my husband and I were sure to try Mineo's pizza. The service was quick but when we recieved our large 2 topping pizza it had soooo much cheese and the crust was very bland. The pizza was rubbery and just had no taste. This place is overrated and I would advise testing another pizza joint.

You guys are all crazy. The best pizza in the Pittsburgh area is none other than DiSalla's on 8th Avenue in Munhall. Try a slice and you'll be ordering a whole tray - that's right square like the REAL pizza makers make in Italy. But don't take my word for it.

The Best Pizza Ever.: I live in the Washington/DC area, and I always bring pizzas back from Mineo's. There is really nothing more to say! They are great!

THE best pizza in pittsburgh: Mineos has been around since I was a child and their pizza has always been the best. The sauce is oh so perfect and sweet. The bread is always fresh. And the way they cook the peperoni under the cheese just rocks. It is pizza done right and it is always good. They have maintained their quality over the years while other shops have given up quality for efficiency.

Best pizza in the city. Hands down. I've been eating there for over 20 years and hopefully for another 20.

Huh?: This ain't good pizza folks. Pittsburgh isn't really known for its pizza, and this place may have been fine a long time ago, but what they serve now is pathetic by Pittsburgh standards, horrible by Philly/NY/Boston standards.

I don't understand what the noise is about. Mineo's is just ok. At least they use fresh toppings -- unlike Aiello's (I'll never return there after getting a pizza with canned mushrooms on it). But seriously fresh toppings are a minimum. M is for Mineo's and mediocre.

It has a similar crust as the regular pizza but with loads of olive oil provolone cheese and tomatoes. It's the best white pizza I have ever tasted!

This pizza is definitely one of the best in Pittsburgh. If you haven;t eaten there before... they put the toppings under the cheese so if you want them on top you have to ask. Great pizza all around!!

The regular sausage pizza was fine but boring. I did like the sicilian but it was too much and I couldn't really enjoy it there. When we brought the pizza home and reheated the next day it was very good if still filling.

I admit it: I'm a flip-flopper! In Pittsburgh there's been a debate for years about who has the best pizza in town. I used to be all about Aiello's and it is good...but I tried Mineo's again for the first time in years a few months ago and now I'm hooked! Cheesy greasy hot great sauce -- everything a pizza should be. And last time I was there I got two slices of cheese pizza and a can of Coke and my bill was under $4!!! Can't be beat!

Mineos pizza is exceptional and the staff is friendly. Its not as clean or as organized as Aiello's but their staff is more respectful and gracious.
