Authentic: The pizza tastes very much like the recepie came from Napoli. One slice is an entire meal.

New York at its finest: I have eaten pizza all over the place and Vesuvio is one of my all time favorite pizzas. It is classic pizza with very good crust and cheese. The only draw back is there is very little seating. I highly recommend this place as it has some of the best pizza Pittsburgh has to offer.

Just for the Pizza: Vesuvio is an absolute treat. It's worth the trip to South Side from any neighborhood in Pittsburgh...just make sure to get there early, because they close when they sell out of dough. While perfect pizza would need a bit more sauce, this pie nears perfection by the merits of its crust alone. Vesuvio's pizza is better enjoyed out amidst the action of Carson St. rather than at the narrow bar that comprises the in-house seating. Don't be surprised if you get hasseled a bit by the kids who hang out here, but it's well worth enduring.

Best pizza on the south side: Some of, if not the best pie on the South Side. Usually one slice is enough, about 1/4 of a pie. Can only eat 2 if really hungry. A slice with 1 topping is $2.50 and very well worth it. They also have Stewarts soda to drink which goes well with the pie. Worth a visit next trip to the S Side. Open till 3am except mon & tues.

I grew up in NJ and I am use to the fine quality of pizza that NY and NJ has to offer. I have lived in the burgh for a while now and tried many different pizza joints. This is the only place that reminds me of home..

I am a tough critic when it comes to Pizza after living in New York and wanting to keep a slim waistline (since my walking is half of what is was in the city). I have scoured the streets of Pittsburgh to find the perfect slice.Lo and Behold...Pizza Sola has become a new addiction and just one slice is enough to fill me for the afternoon. The Godfather slice with ricotta cheese or the white pizza with tomatoes are my first picks...but the pepperoni is not far behind. Comes highly recommended with a vote of confidene it truly is the best bang for you buck.

I like getting slices here. One is big enough to be filling. The thin crust is delicious and I think it is best eaten when in the restaurant> The high temp. pizza oven makes the pizza perfect. Getting it as a take out pie seems to lose some of the goodness.

I'd heard about this place and visited it a while back but that was years ago.
