Calzones are a great alternative to regular pizzas. They’re mildly portable, convenient to eat, and since you typically only eat on (regardless of size), you don’t have that after dinner guilt that comes with eating an entire large pizza. Calzones also tightly pack in tons of flavor, and since you can typically fit a lot of toppings into one, you can go crazy with it. For the sake of this recipe, however, we will show you how to make a 3-meat calzone using pre-made packaged dough that can be purchased at any supermarket.

You will need the following ingredients:
-Pre-made dough
-1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheeze
-1/2 package of pepperoni
-3/4 cup of crumbled Italian sausage
-1/2 cup of sliced ham
-1/2 cup of marinara sauce
To start, take the pizza dough and stretch it out on a lightly floured board. Don’t make it too thick, as it will be too small to put in all the ingredients, but don’t make it too thin, as the crust might stretch too much and tear.
On one side of the dough, spread about half the marinara sauce and set aside the rest. Take all of the ingredients, mix them together in a large bowl. and add on top of the marinara sauce. Top with the remaining sauce.
Next, very carefully fold the other side over the toppings, aligning each edge. Using the flat side of a fork’s tines, seal the dough together until the entire thing is shut.
Finally, place in an oven pre-heated to 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until thoroughly cooked through. Remove from the oven, let cool (it’ll be hot!) and enjoy!
