Beetroot Poori Pizza Recipe

Ordinarily, people add beetroot to the dough so they won't be able to taste it as much but would still consume something as healthy. Same goes to Cooks Joy's beetroot poori pizza recipe that reflects another culture's delightful flavor. 

Ingredients:
1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 tsp ajwain (optional)
Salt
2 tsp oil
1 beetroot steamed and pureed
Oil to deep fry

Directions:
  1. Take the flours in a bowl. Add salt.
  2. Add oil.
  3. Add ajwain.
  4. Take the steamed beetroot in a mixie/food processor and make a puree.
  5. Add the puree to the flour mix.
  6. Crumble first and then using water form a stiff dough.
  7. Let the dough rest for 15 – 30 minutes.
  8. Pinch a small portion of the dough and roll into a small poori.
  9. Heat oil and add the rolled poori to the oil. The poori should rise in a few seconds. Using a spatula, push the poori into the oil and see it puff up.
  10. Colorful pooris ready.
