Beets the Dough

Interesting enough with its fine and unique color, this beet pizza dough is a perfect way to insert some good nutrition and attractive looks. Pizza oven brings us a recipe that is quite experimental on beets but is a perfect dough for just bout anything!

Active dry yeast (1 package)

1 1/2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

4 cups of unbleached flour for bread

1/2 cup of beets pureed

3 tablespoons of agave nectar

1 cup of warm water

In a large bowl mix the water and the yeast package together and stir with a fork. It should start to foam a bit. Let the mixture rest for about 7 minutes. Once it has rested, slowly stir in your agave nectar, olive oil, and beet puree. Mix slowly for about 5 minutes.

In a separate bowl use a whisk to loosen the flour. Slowly pour in your wet ingredients and mix it together until it starts to form into a dough.

Press dough out and shape as you would any other dough. Keep in mind that this is not regular dough so it will be a little more difficult to shape. This pizza sure isn't pretty but is sure is tasty!
