Grilled BBQ Chicken Pizza Recipe

With summer quickly approaching, thoughts inevitably turn toward grilling. It’s an American staple, and there’s nothing more enjoyable than gettin’ some beers and having some friends come over on a Saturday afternoon for a night of camaraderie and meat. After awhile, however, burgers, ribs, hot dogs, and BBQ chicken just becomes a little tired and the itch to try something new pops up. Why not combine pizza night with BBQ and make a grilled BBQ chicken pizza?

To make a grilled BBQ chicken pizza, you will need the following ingredients:

-1 pizza crust
-2 large chicken breasts
-1 ½ cups of BBQ sauce
-1 red onion, sliced
-1 cup of  shredded Monterey Jack cheese

To start, you need to cook the chicken. To keep the “grill” flavor, you can cook it on the grill, though this is not necessary. If you choose to cook it in a pan, cook the chicken in olive oil over medium heat until thoroughly cooked. When done, cut into thin strips and set aside.

Next, take the pizza crust and apply a liberal amount of the BBQ sauce to the base. After that, add the sliced onion then most, but not all, the cheese.

Next, take the sliced chicken and put into a large bowl. Add the rest of the BBQ sauce, adding more if necessary to completely coat it. Once done, add it to the top of the pizza, covering with the rest of the cheese.

To cook, fire up the grill and place the pizza in the middle and cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.
