Grilled Pizza Margherita

Using your grill to make pizza can be a great way to make one that’s both easy and healthy!

1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp minced garlic

2 whole wheat pizza crusts

1 ½ cup shredded part-skim mozzarella

1 lb sliced tomatoes

½ cup fresh basil leaves

Black pepper, freshly ground

1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar


  1. Set grill to medium-high heat
  2. Mix olive oil and garlic
  3. Brush one side of each pizza crust with half of the garlic oil
  4. Place crusts oil side down on grill. Heat until bottoms are golden brown, about 2 minutes
  5. Flip crusts, brush with remaining garlic oil. Sprinkle with mozzarella
  6. Grill until bottoms are golden brown, about 2 minutes more
  7. Scatter tomatoes and basil evenly on pizzas
  8. Sprinkle with pepper and drizzle with balsamic vinegar
  9. Cut each pizza into 4 slices
