Grilled Spinach Alfredo Pizza Recipe

This pizza recipe is a cheesy blend of bacon, chicken breast and spinach warmed in delectable Alfredo sauce. All these elements combine to create a great topping for this California-style grilled pizza.

Buy your pizza dough in one pound balls in the refrigerated section of the supermarket. If you prefer, you can buy it at your local pizzeria. In a pinch, you can also use the frozen variety. If you do, just remember to thaw it overnight in the refrigerator before using as directed.

This pizza goes well with iced tea.

This recipe requires 27 minutes in total to make, from preparation to oven to table.

1 cup Alfredo sauce

1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped spinach, thawed, well drained

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

1 pound refrigerated pizza dough, at room temperature

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 boneless skinless chicken breast (4 ounces) cooked, chopped

4 slices bacon, cooked, crumbled

1. Heat grill to medium heat.

2. Cook and stir Alfredo sauce in medium saucepan on medium heat 4 to 5 minutes or until heated through. Stir in spinach and crushed pepper. Keep warm.

3. Divide pizza dough into 4 pieces. Roll each piece into 12-inch round on lightly floured surface. Brush evenly with half the oil. Place, oiled-sides down, on grill grate. Grill 5 min. or until bottoms are golden brown and lightly charred. Brush with remaining oil; turn.

4. Top with spinach mixture, cheese, chicken and bacon; cover grill with lid. Grill 5 to 7 minutes or until bottoms of crusts are golden brown and cheese is melted.
