Mushroom and Cambozola Pizza Recipe

Created by Dax Phillips in August of 2011, cambozola cheese is the hallmark of this delicious pizza recipe. It is ultra creamy and its flavor is slightly reminiscent of gorgonzola cheese.

This recipe is easy to make and scrumptious to eat, two vital components to a rewarding meal.

Enjoy this pizza.

Pizza dough, rolled out to about a 10-12? circle

1 cup cremini mushrooms, sliced

1 clove of garlic, minced

1/4 cup of sliced shallots

1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese

4 tablespoons cambozola cheese

1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

flour for rolling the dough

some finely ground corn meal

pizza wheel

1. Heat oven to 500 degrees. If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven during preheating and leave it for about 25 minutes before placing your pizza on it.

2. Place a softball-size dough on a floured surface. Roll it out into about a quarter inch thick, 10-12 inch round.

3. Arrange your pizza by lightly coating your pizza wheel with the cornmeal. This makes it easier to slide the pizza off of the wheel and onto the pizza stone.

4. Place your dough onto the pizza wheel. Sprinkle the garlic and black pepper onto the dough and top with the mozzarella cheese.

5. Arrange a tablespoon of the cambozola cheese near the middle to top area of the pizza. Repeat with three remaining tablespoons. Top with all of the sliced mushrooms and shallots.

6. Gently shake the pizza onto the pizza stone and into the oven for about 15 minutes, or until everything a light golden brown.

7. Let pizza rest about 5 minutes on a pizza tray before serving.
