Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza

A child’s favorite sandwich is almost always the tried and true peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Its tastiness is surpassed only by the simplicity of its construction, which consists of little more than slapping some peanut butter and jelly on two pieces of bread and slamming them together (don’t forget to cut off the crusts!). If you’re looking to put a little work into your PB&Js, however, you can always opt for a peanut butter & jelly pizza!

To make a PB&J pizza, you will need, well, pretty much the same ingredients if you were making it in sandwich form.

-1/2 to 1 cup of peanut butter
-1/2 cup of jam
-2 bananas, sliced
-1 pizza crust

Making this pizza is very simple, and given the consistency of jelly, suitable for a wide range of artistic expression! To start, warm up the peanut butter to loosen it and give it a consistency that makes it easier to spread on the crust. While this is happening, bake the pizza crust in an oven pre-heated to 375 degrees until the crust has started to become crispy.

Immediately remove the crust and let cool for a few moments. Then, spread a layer of peanut butter to the edge of the crust, followed by a layer of jam (any flavor will do). Finally, for the piece de resistance, add the sliced bananas on top.

If you want, you can always cook the pizza with the toppings already in place, though you run the risk of the jam and peanut butter becoming a wet, sticky mess.

As for artistic expression, the pizza found here details just what exactly can be done with a little artistic talent and some determination. For kids, smiley faces, a sun and some clouds, and even some cute little flowers is a great way to jazz up a boring ol’ pizza
