Pizza Pretzel Recipe

Pretzels are a wonderful snack, and even when coated in oil and salt and privy to myriad dipping sauces, the generic flavor can get boring after awhile. Thankfully, pretzels can be spiced up, especially those boring old store bought frozen ones that are usually lacking in REAL flavor.

One of the ways for you to make a pretzel tastier is to make it a pizza pretzel! It’s quite easy to make, and adds new flavor to an otherwise bland treat.

To make a pizza pretzel, you will need the following ingredients:

-1 large pretzel, frozen or otherwise
-1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese
-Sliced pepperoni
-Olive oil
-Marinara sauce

If using a frozen pretzel, simply take it out of the package and wrap in a paper towel. Defrost in the microwave until slightly soft, but not cooked all the way through.

Remove from the microwave. Lightly coat the pretzel with olive oil. Lightly drizzle the pretzel with mozzarella cheese. Next, take the pepperoni slices and place on top of the pretzel, then add a bit more mozzarella cheese on top of the pepperoni.

Place in an oven pre-heated to 325 degrees and cook until the cheese has melted. Remove and use the marinara sauce for dipping. Other toppings can be added before cooking, but you should make sure that you find some way to prevent them from falling off while being cooked.

A fresh pretzel will no doubt be a better - and tastier - choice, but this recipe is suitable for frozen pretzels, as they tend to lack the flavor that fresh pretzels do.
