Homemade Stuffed Crust Pizza Recipe
One of the best creations in the history of pizza is the stuffed crust pizza. Thrust into the popular culture courtesy of Pizza Hut, stuffed crust has become a common staple on pizza night, with its popularity causing it to find its way into frozen pizzas as well as being a regular menu item. As such, it’s always a bit expensive to order it from a delivery place, so why not make a stuffed crust at home? It will probably be healthier, and you can add as many toppings as you’d like without having to pay extra.

To make a stuffed crust pizza at home, you will need the following ingredients:
Pizza Crust
-Dry yeast, one package (equals about 2 ¼ teaspoons)
-Bread flour, 3 ½ cups
Toppings
-5 sticks of string cheese
-1 ½ cups of mozzarella cheese, shredded
-1 cup of marinara sauce
-Toppings of your choice
To prepare the crust, take a warm bowl, fill it with one and a half cups of warm water and add the yeast. Once the yeast has dissolved, add the flour, two tablespoons of olive, two teaspoons of salt, and a teaspoon of sugar, and mix using a mixing paddle attached to a mixer. Once thoroughly mixed, switch to a dough hook and mix the dough a bit more. If you don’t have a dough hook you can use your hands.
Once mixed, place in a bowl coated with olive oil, ensuring the entire ball of dough is coated. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit in a warm place for about two hours to “proof” the dough.
Once the dough has risen, remove and flatten into a circular shape. Take the mozzarella sticks and place at the edge of the crust. Next, carefully fold the crust over, pressing down and forming a seal over the cheese. Once you’ve done this around the edge of the entire crust, add the marinara sauce, shredded cheese, and whatever toppings you like. Throw that bad boy in the oven pre-heated to 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is crispy. Remove, and enjoy!
