White Pizza Recipe

Much like the margherita pizza, a traditional white pizza doesn’t utilize tomato sauce as a base. Instead, it utilizes a mixture of different types of cheeses and various toppings to suit your taste. In some recipes, a white sauce, such as an alfredo sauce, can be used as a base, though this white pizza recipe will focus more on a traditional white recipe that puts the focus on the cheese.

To make a white pizza, you will need the following ingredients:

Shredded ricotta cheese
Shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Shredded Parmiagiano-Reggiano cheese
Spices such as basil, pepper, garlic, and oregano

To start, mix the three cheeses together in a large bowl. How much cheese you use is entirely up to you, though it typically depends on the size of the crust. A larger crust would obviously require more cheese, though to prevent an overpowering flavor, the amount of mozzarella and ricotta used should be greater than that of the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.

Once the cheeses have been mixed together, evenly disperse over the crust. For the crust, a pre-made pizza crust is ideal, as it contributes to the ease of preparation this type of pizza affords. If you choose to make your own crust, a recipe can be found here.

Once the cheese has been placed on the pizza, you can top it with various spices and toppings to suit your taste. Place on parchment paper atop a pizza pan and put in an oven pre-heated to 425 degrees for approximately ten minutes.

A white pizza is a great option for people without a lot of time on their hands to prepare a traditional pizza. The best thing about white pizza recipes is the flexibility it affords, allowing you to mix up the cheeses to create a unique flavor.
