Not enjoyable: I did not enjoy the pizza. It wasn't very flavorful to me. They put big chunks of meat on the pizza and im not a big meat fan. I didn't like the crust. Im not sure if its Chicago pizza, but if it is, I just don't like it. Most kids might not like it.

Fabulous pizza: Great pizza. Best around. Doesn't take credit cards and that's a big Negative. Hours of operation...not good especially weekends. But best pizza I ever ate. Pricey but good. Takes at least 45 min to get your food.

O.K. Pizza. Not as good as Luigi's or some of the great pies I've eaten in other cities.

Yearning for Ole Chicago?: If you have had pizza in chicago...Real "Chicago-style" pizza, Zelda's cures that nostalgic yearning for real pizza in a heart beat.

Great pizza... I like how they put the sausage as a layer on the bottom of a combo instead of pieces on the top. It's different and i think thats why i like it the most, especially when it comes to the pesto, spinoccoli, and new spin, those are good if you're tired of meat pizzas. And i think Dominick makes the best pizzas.. ha ha.

Pesto Pizza: It is a little pricey, but their pizza is to die for. Especially their pesto pizza. The crust on their pizza is awsome.

Best Pizza in Sacramento - NO CONTEST!!: If you have never had Pizza at Zelda's, you have never really ate a great pie! Not in Sacramento at least. If you like Domino's, Round Table, Pizza Hut or any of the other chain pizza places, rethink what a pie is supposed to be, cause that aint it! Nothing else in Sacramento is comparable to a Zelda's pie, REALLY! I refuse to eat any other pizza as it leaves me wanting Zelda's. About $8 to $10 for a small (more than enough for two) to about $18 to $22 for a large (enough 6 serious pizza lovers), this is really a good value. With a large at Round table being near $30 (rediculous), there is no comparison. I discovered Zelda's in the 1980's and have been coming back ever since. Seriously, when I have lived in other states, I have had relatives overnight me a pie. May sound crazy, maybe it is, but I am truly crazy abut this pizza! (I still have a friend in Maine overnight me a few lobsters now & then, so I am serious about great food) Do yourself a favor and try this pie. If you don't like it, you need to re-evaluate your idea of what good food is. SERIOUSLY!

Best Pizza in Sac! It is a different style and flavor that you are used too, you gotta try it out. The restaurant isn't anything special, but has a warm and cozy ambiance. Not a place to bring a larger party, 4 is best. Not the friendliest wait staff, but the pizza and wings make up for it. Only have Bud on tap, but there is a full bar which you can eat at while watching a Kings game. I highly recommend it!

Service is almost a joke, it almost seems like the owner's are trying to keep as much of the revenues as humanly possible because they're overwhelmed with customers. But Pizza is definitely worth the wait in most cases.. Sometimes they cook it inconsistently but for the most part you get a gourmet pizza like no other I know of. A lot of crust so thin crust lovers need not bother.

mmm....tastey and different for me: Just wonderful...the best the crust I have ever eaten by far... they put their cheese first onto the crust before the sause and toppings. IF YOU LOVE SAUSAGE this is the place to get you pizza

If you like service with a snarl (I prefer food that's made with love), and something like Campbell's Vegetable Soup poured over a thick boring crust of bread -- then this is your spot. I wouldn't call it Pizza though -- guess the mistake was trying ANY pizza restaurant in San Francisco (try North Beach Pizza). I've given Zelda's two chances and was not the least bit impressed either time.

The food is good, but the service is not. I enjoyed the pizza, but it is not as good as I did get in Chicago.

If you are tired of the same old pizza, then this is the place to try a chicago style pizza pie. The customer service isn't the best but the pizza is so worth it!

Is this really a pizza?: Been going here for years(20+) Nothing has changed about the recipe. It is defenitly not your average pizza. It's more like the old chicago style pie.

This has been one of my favorites for years-I know all the staff and they all great friends and pleasure to see when I go in. Plan on eating with both hands some of the best pizza around! It has always been a fun place to go with good food and Zelda's son has done a great job of carrying on the name and legacy. Appreciate the ability to use cards now. Heading there to celebrate birthday tonight with one of the certificates from Sacramento 1/2 off-hope they do that again. Would always go anyway but fun that they did the certificate.

Am here on business and have eaten at Zelda's twice. Why compare to what you've eaten "somewhere else"? Everyone has their personal favorite. These are just darn good pies. You want personal service? Go to Shakey's. I go for the food. How can anyone bash stuff that tastes this good?

Good, But Not The Best: They are a little too big on the meat. The layer of sausage is way too much. Very sparse on the veggies and sauce. Other than that, you get a nice heavy pizza that is deep dish with what my husband says is Chicago style crust. (I am from California so I wouldn't know... He's from Illinois) My kids say it's like bisquick and cornmeal. Try Luigi's Pizza.

I want it NOW!: I totally forgot about Zelda's. Then a friend suggested we go. I am readdicted to their pizza. It's THE best pizza in Sacramento. The only thing that needs help is the service. The waitress we had was older and she chatted so much with other's she ignored everyone else.

Zelda's The Best in SAcramento: I have enjoyed Zelda's Pizza for the last 20 years. It is absolutely the best in town. All fresh ingredients, a clean pie style crust all brought right to your table still in a black cast iron deep dish style pan, right out of the oven. Well worth the wait.

Best darn pizza in Sacramento, that is if you know ANYTHING about real pizza. The service has always been poor, but if you want something besides a wet rag with imitation toppings, this is the place for you! I have been eating here for decades and will keep going back even though the wait staff is gruff.

Good food, good value, not a huge wait: Though I've never had a true Chicago pizza, Zelda's offers what I commonly hear referred to as Chicago-style. It's pretty good stuff. The pizzas are extremely filling, and even though I'm a big eater, I generally have enough left for lunch the next day. It's reasonably priced, and the wait hasn't ever really been as bad as I anticipated. All-in-all, a great experience every time I've gone.

BEST - PIZZA - EVER!!!!!! Customer service has always sucked but, this is the ONLY place where i don't care about customer service. plus they have signs warning you to call in ahead of time because the minimum wait per-pizza is 30 minutes and they have free popcorn while you wait! also, a typical dive bar wets your whistle while you wait.

Sure, the service is brusk. But, the waitresses and cooks care about providing quality food. It's a dark and divey atmosphere and prepare to wait a while for a table on Friday nights and weekends. I would not recommend bringing more than 4 or 5 people at a time as space is limited. The pizza is deep dish with an almost pastry crust. The sauce is savory and the toppings and cheese are plentiful. Bring cash - they don't take credit. They have an ATM but the charge is several dollars.

Zelda's is a Sacramento institution if you want good pizza go to Zelda's. Zelda's serves Chicago-style deep-dish pizza that is the best around. Zelda's can be crowded some days so I would recommend calling in your order at least 30...

Skip withered bowls of iceberg lettuce they call salad and dig into a pizza consisting of cornmeal-sprinkled crust tart tomato sauce and what may be a pound of cheese. Try the pesto pie heavy with chunks of garlic.

If you want a healthy meal go somewhere else. However if you want to indulge yourself in some meaty cheesy goodness go to Zeldas. The pizzas taste great and I recommend extra garlic on the pizza provided you are with your friends and not on a date.

The pizza was delicious - a perfect combination of hidden veggies in a crust that more closely resembled the kind you would expect on a chicken pot pie than a traditional pizza crust. Of course my hunger got the best of me so I remembered...
