VALENCIA PIZZA & PASTA
801 VALENCIA ST,
San Francisco, California 94110
(415) 642-1882

About Us: The crowd that gathers here is a mix of local Mission residents and those passing through the neighborhood. The service is efficient and the portions are large. The green tile counter in the center of the restaurant, the chrome bar stools and the cozy booths are misleading. Its a pleasant surprise that this Valencia restaurant, which looks like an American-style 50s diner, is in reality a pizza and pasta joint. A wide variety of pizza and pasta dishes are served, all delicious.

Best kept secret in the Mission!: This little mom and pop shop doesn't look like much, but don't let the looks fool you. The food is excellent and the portions generous. You'll look twice when the bill comes because the prices are so low. It's a rare restaurant where breakfast for two tallies at less than $15.00; and comes with a piece of fruit to take home with you because you don't have room to eat another bite. Yes, I said breakfast... this little pizza place serves breakfast, lunches, and dinners that go far beyond pizza and pasta. A steak dinner with grilled mushrooms and onions, mashed potatoes, perfectly steamed veggies, garlic bread, and a soup or salad is $ 10.00. You may have to wait in line to get in... but it's always worth the wait. Hands down the best kept secret in the Mission.

Great food, prices and service: I have been going to Valencia Pasta and Pizza for about 2 years now. They have been in business for 14 years now and it is definitely the best kept secret in the Mission. At the corner of 19th and Valencia, this unassuming corner has an amazing selection of meat, pasta and pizza dishes in not only large portions but at prices that are hard to believe. Favorites are the NY Steak with fresh mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes and generous portion of fresh steamed veggies. Another is the Chicken and cheese Raviolis with a delicious fresh Marinara sauce and fresh veggies. Just to mention a few. Everything I have tried is amazing, fresh and delicious. Even the house wines are wonderful with these meals. This is a not to miss place and, if you enjoy good food at an amazing price, this may become one of your favorites, too.

I love going to this place for lunch since it's around the corner from my work. Overall their menu has variety (meat, poultry, seafood, even veggie), great taste and great price. Pizzas are cheap for the size they give you - I usually get a small and share it with a couple of coworkers. The Grilled chicken salad or Lemon chicken sandwich lunch special are my other faves (comes with potates, can of soda, and a side salad for less than $8). Definitely recommend for anyone.

lota food for lil money: My boyfriend and I started going to V Pizza for the cheap breakfast. We usually get omelets because it's the only place in town where you can get one for 6 bucks at the most plus potatoes, bread and fruit. Yes! all for 6 bucks. We never spend more than $24 including tip and we always have left-overs. Anywhoo, we decided one night after being sick of burger joint to go there for dinner. We got loads of food: wonderful fresh and lightly cooked veggies, soup, and huge entrees. And once again we only spent $24. It's now our spot. Oh! and you have to try the enormous calzones.

In a city where you can spend lots of money on some great food, there is no need to go that far. Valencia Pizza & Pasta is one of our favorite places. It's worth the wait. And you need to order thei Pork Chops, Lamb Shanks and Seafood are excellent. But then, we have never had a bad meal there yet. And be prepared to bring some home for the next day!! Enjoy!!

Reasonable and large portions: Always a long wait but worth it. Service is mediocre to excellent depending on the server. Considering it is a non stop turn over and the server is always in the weeds (no fault of their own) they do pretty well. The cook is a pig though I have seen him stick his fingers in the food he is cooking and lick his finger and the cleanliness leaves a little to be desired. If this sort of thing skeeves you don't go there. The hostess /owner is sweet and always accomodating. The food is the hit the spot type of comfort food you crave when you are truly hung over or just plain ravenous. One entree will feed two people easily and they have a decent selection of wine and beer.

We're hooked!: Valencia Pizza and Pasta (or VP&P, as we call it) is one of our favorite restaurants in the city: excellent food, great value, and some of the nicest people. Their weekend brunches are fantastic (I especially love the eggs florentine). Their pizza is fresh and loaded to the gills with toppings. My sweetie and I are vegetarian, but we try to take our meat-eating friends there because the plates of pork loin and meatloaf look so tasty every time they go by. You'll also be amazed (in the best possible way) when the bill comes -- I don't think we've ever spent more than $15 on brunch or $20 on dinner (including tip!). This place is habit forming. Just save us a table, okay?

Valencia Pizza and Pasta - breakfasts on weekends only. I love their home fries that are deep-fried potato chunks... mirroring my fondness for fried yuca ...love the plantains and the breakfast sandwich at Red Cafe... oh pie for breakfast...

Although the pizza is very tasty what sets Valencia Pizza and Pasta apart are the pasta fish and chicken dishes. The pasta menu is composed of the standard fettuccine linguine and ravioli but there is a long list of specials such as...

I came here for the first time last week and really liked it. We got cheese ravioli with salmon sauce and a calzone... It was way too much food for two people and still cheap! The $2 beers may seem too good to be true but they are for real. I'm definitely planning to come back to this place... yay for carbo-loading!

This is a great place to bring out of town guests to. I love it here. Last Friday I brought my mom sister and her husband here. The service was quick and really good. Food was the best I have had in quite a while. I had the mushroom steak medium well sis had the pepperd steak the husband had a pizza and Mom had the pesto ravioli. The food was served with soup or salad. 10/10 all around for all courses. It is also not too expensive either. The only draw back is the have live music which was too loud as it is a small restruant.

This place certainly has inexpensive prices and more than reasonable portions of food (abeit pretty mundane). But what wigs Mr. Peepers out about the place is the sad and dirty little bathroom which I believe the workers use too. I can't imagine alot of hand washing goes on. But then again I am not with the SF Dept. of Public Health which I assume inspects this restaurant on a reasonable basis.

I am personally fond of their breakfast menu-their pork chops and eggs are a real delicious deal that always has me coming back. Next time I go I'll see about posting their menus. Forgot to last time.
