A favorite spot: This is a great place where my friends and I go for specialitiy and good deep-pan Chicago-style pizzas. You can choose from a variety of toppings. They have a special homemade tomato sauce that it fantastic. A great selection of wines to go along with the food. The staff is warm and friendly and treat you like family.

Finally Zachary's quality pizza in the city: This is a great little find. Tucked into the up and coming section of Hayes Valley. Great stuffed crust pizza, salads, good little wine list. Truly a gem.

bg and I have heard lots about Patxi's from Vij who considers himself a pizza expert. One time Vij and his sister found a secret recipe for a Zachary's pizza and made it at home. The Chicago style pizza is very good and filling but the...

Husband and I split the spinach pesto deep dish pizza and it was amazing. Super fresh and delicious and very saucy. The crust was very good even a little flaky.

This place has great chicago-style pizza-- something you see too little of in the bay area. As I mentioned in my review of the other location I love that the bell peppers in deep dish are still crispy even though it's a pretty greasy slice! Definitely get the deep-dish not the thin-crust. The Hayes Valley location and cans of PBR make this a prime location for hipsters but you also see some preppier types watching sports on the flatscreen TV. They deliver!

While I didn't try the deep dish the regular pizza was very good. I got the pesto spinach and parmesaen pizza which had a little tomato sauce on it which was nice. They messed up our pizza but took a little off the bill which was nice. I...

There are some things you can make at home; others like super-thick deep-dish pizza stuffed with ingredients and smothered with tomato sauce are best left to the professionals.

We ordered 2 pizzas (thin crust Hawaiian and deep dish Favorite). The Hawaiian's crust's texture was like a biscuit (not pizza crust) and was not thin crust by any means. The deep dish was ok but no better than Zachary's pizza in the East Bay. The real deal killer was the service though. We knew beforehand the pizza would take a while but first of all when we decided not to have the onions on the Hawaiian we were charged for 3 toppings instead of 2 (it doesn't take a genius to figure out it only had 2 toppings) and we were offered a box while we were in the middle of eating dinner (as if they were trying to get rid of us). The place was not even full at the time either.

Patxi's seemed to be right up there with the better ones but I'll agree it's not quite as good as Little Star. The dough was fresh and chewy the way I like it and the toppings were fresh and generous. I went there when the place was...
