Best sourdough pizza ever: A Potrero Hill institution. A step up from your average pizza parlor -- red & white checked tablecloths, inventive pizza toppings, great cozy atmosphere. Pizza is sourdough based. Monday night is Neighborhood Night -- all you can eat salad bar and pizza that's served like dim sum. Local artwork displays on the walls, as well as old (early 1900s) photographs of Potrero Hill. Owner Phil is a local icon -- very involved in the community. Great for kids.

Excellent Pizza: The pizza is my favorite in SF. It really is very delicious pizza and everybody I know who has eaten there LOVES it. Sourdough crust is fantastic and nobody else has one this good. Sauce, cheese and toppings are very high quality too. All you can eat night is cool if you don't mind waiting 45-60 minutes for a table.

Excellent pizza: Great Potrero Hill pizza joint. Perfect addition to the neighborhood or worth the trip if you live elsewhere.

You gotta be kidding me.: Don't get me wrong, the pizza isn't bad, but this place isn't even on my top 5 for the Bay Area. Go Check out Cheeseboard or Zachary's in berkeley instead or Amazon in Oakland. SF is a great food town but they've always lacked when it came to good old pizza.

Best Pizza in SF: The pizza is here is out of this world. No other pizza place like it. The lunch special is at a great price.

Very average: It's located in a nice area, but the pizza is very average. I didn't finish it and I didn't even want to take it home. For the best pizza try Pizzetta or Rose's on Union st. I don't know how this landed on the list of best of SF.

Gotta Love It: This place just atomizes the local pizza joint. Looking around at the old Potrero Hill photos you feel the history. Great sourdough pizza crust.

Former New Yorker Here: Yeah, New YOrk Gets the rave reviews for pizza and I usually agree until I tried Goat Hill's. It's perfect for me - the crust is crispy and not bready plus the sauce and toppings are great. I love this place.

Neighborhood Treasure: Is there a secret trick to creating a high-end restaurant? If you know the business, hiring the right chef and designer, along with a sound business plan and a bit of good timing and location probably covers the act. Finding a place that's the heart of a neighborhood takes a bit more than that. For a lot of people, it's the small, casual, hole-in-the-wall local icons that mean the most. New York, Chicago and San Francisco seem to have more than their fair share of places where folks gladly queue up outside for pizza, a burger or pad thai. On Potrero Hill, it's Goat Hill (the original name of this hill) Pizza. Some seats have a view of downtown, others face photos of local scenes or original works by local artists. Food is simple, family-style satisfying, pastas and thin-crust pizzas. The oven leaves a distinctive browning on the crust and for the (has it been?) fifteen years I've been dropping by, it's always been a welcoming and delicious experience, especially on Halloween, when trick-or--treating kids are snap up pizza slices.

The best pizza in the city, hands down. And I've eaten a lot of pizza. Lots of yummy ingredients to choose from, and service with a smile. The pizzas can be a bit on the pricey side, but no more so than any other quality pizza shop in the city. Highly recommended!

Worth The Drive Across Town: Goat Hill has been a Potrero Hill icon for decades now, and for a good reason: the pizza. With every imaginable topping, a great toasty crust, and reasonably priced tap beer - plus a bird's eye view of downtown from certain tables - Goat Hill is the place for pizza if you live anywhere near Potrero Hill ... and perhaps even beyond.

great vibe, but the pizza's just ok: I lived a few blocks from here in 1997 and went here lots. good times. I think they still do an all-you-can-eat night on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Converted North Beach Pizza Fan: i was a believer in North Beach Pizza in SF and San Mateo, but after trying and visiting Goat Hill several times I am a GH Fan. just the right amount of ingredients. great pizza, reasonable prices, the staff is a little above average in service. i believe on tuesday they have all you can eat pizza and $1 beer. you may need to call to confirm though.

We had their Californian pizza [artichoke & tomatoes] and I wouldn't say it was NYC style pizza. I've been there on Mondays where it's all you can eat w/ their salad bar. It's not that bad.

After being a costumer for several years I had an encounter with Elena (manager) and OMG was that awful. Not only that there was no respect to a loyal costumer but there were racist remarks. Not that I will never come back to that place I will not recommend it to anyone.
