Great Pizza: I've eaten at La Vera's many times, and their pizzas have always been wonderful! If you like pizza that is innovative, yet true to the Italian traditions, I would recommend La Vera's. This is no chain pizza parlour. The sauce is great, whether you like tomato or pesto. I never liked pesto on a pizza before I ate at La Vera's. So, if you like Pesto, try the Pesto Special. However, my very favorite is still the Pizza Verde, with tomato sauce, green onions, artichokes, red peppers, garlic, mozzarella chesse, and pesto sauce. If you like pizza that is out of the ordinary, this place is well worth the visit. Just be advised: the service can be quite slow at certain times of the day, and any pizza will take between 25-35 minutes until it arrives. So, call ahead for take-out or plan for a leisurely lunch or dinner. This is Sonoma County at it's pizza-best - as the weekend wait-time for a table will attest to. If anyone finds a better pizza in Sonoma County, I'd be happy to hear of it. But for now, this is the best I've had in the 25 years I've lived here.

Best Pizza in Santa Rosa! LA VERA!: This is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is always top notch, and the food is impecable. It's a must for families or people visiting town. I highly reccomend their pizza's but their calzones are also amazing, a personal favorite.

A beautiful day and the chance to sit outside and people watch are the only things that saved this rather dismal experience at La Vera's Pizza. Maybe I should have had pizza, but my lunch partner and I didn't choose to; so she ordered a spinach salad ($9.95) without Gorgonzola and apparently without flavor as her comment was "I've had a better one at Applebees", The spinach was fresh, but there was a total lack of flavor in the dressing. The small pieces of bacon and hard-boiled egg could not save it. I ordered a lunch special Chicken Panini ($9.95) described as a "grilled chicken breast, brie cheese, with a sun-dried tomato and basil pesto". Well, the bread was crisp, the rest was tasteless, except that they left the rind on the brie which gave the sandwich a rather moldy taste. The "Pasta Salad" was corkscrew pasta tossed with some parsley and chopped bell pepper, mixed with mayonnaise. Huh? You are an Italian eatery, how about some Italian pasta salad, olive oil, vinegar, olives??? And boy, can those corkscrew pastas hold that mayo! I observed three other tables with the pasta salad, all left untouched. I also ordered a glass of chardonnay ($8.00); the pour was skimpy, about 3 1/2 ounces. 8 bucks for that just sucks! However, hope springs eternal, so we ordered dessert - a seasonal apple crisp, and two cappuccinos. The cappuccinos were good, the crisp was not, not crisp, not good. LindySez - With so many fine Italian Restaurants in the area, save your $50.00 for lunch for two and go somewhere, anywhere else. Or, perhaps have the pizza.

After not being at la vera for about a year, the quality of the food is terrible. The house salad was a sml dinner plate over flowing with some kind of grn lettuce and a sml wedge of tomato. My pasta was overcooked, and the pesto was flavorless. The pizza was dry with a few thin slices of pepperoni. The lasagna was overcooked, and dry on the top. The waiter offered to cook me some more pasta. It was not overcooked but the pesto was flavorless. I took it to work the next day, It was worse, into the trash it went. I am so disappointed, and the bill was 65.00. I will cook my al dente pasta, and add TJ, or Whole Foods pesto. Did this place chg mgmt and cooks???

Magnifico!: I went with my girlfriend and we shared a calzone and margarita pizza. The calzone was wonderfully cheesy and the pizza was very good too. The pizza crust had a lot of flavor. The atmosphere was welcoming and our waitress very friendly. For dessert we shared a gelato and overall it made for a perfect date night.

I love Italian food and I definitely enjoyed this restaurant. The dishes are good with a nice selection but it is a little pricey. I will definitely go back when I am looking for a nice Italian dinning experience.

The food is just okay. It is not italian authentic. Really La Vera food is no different than Mary's pizza Shack for twice the price. My pizza today had a semi-puffy crust that was too salty and cake-textured. The tomatoes & sausage on top...
