Out of towners from Knoxville TN: I took my daughter there last night for our last night in town. This place was great. Great service Great food Great ambience. It was even across the street from Galery Place Metro. Definately going back next time we are in town. One suggestion - Buffalo Chicken Pizza

Very good place, went to because we were hungry and walked by. We had prosciutto wrapped cantaloupe appetizer, very good, the prosciutto was awesome, some! of the best we've ever had and the cantaloupe was perfectly ripe, very juicy and refreshing! Fried Risotto Balls stuffed with mozzarella were very good, rich and creamy. Panzanella was very good! Tomatoes, cucumbers, red pepper, yellow pepper, croutons, lots of great basil, in a nice vinegarette. Was really good, and very fresh, and quite refreshing on a 95 degree day and horribly humid! Pizza was Lombardi and we added proscuitto. Base pizza was carmelized onion, gorgonzola, rosemary, and was very unique and flavorful! We would definately eat there again.

Casual Elegance: I went to Ellaâ??s with friends for dinner this past weekend after all the sight seeing. The food was fabulous and the restaurant was causal with a bit of elegance and romance! It would be a perfect restaurant for a first date or special occasion! I had the chef special of Penne Pasta with grilled chicken in a creamy pesto with pine nuts, while others at my table raved over the pizza! To top off the fabulous dinner, we all shared their homemade vanilla ice creamâ?¦MmmMmm. This was my second visit to Ellaâ??s, and both times I was never disappointed!

DC's Best Pizza!!: Ella's is simply the best pizza in Washington, DC. You have to try it. Wheather it is how they make it or if it is the ingredients, they have a secret. I have never had a better slice of pizza. The atmosphere was very nice. The service was good. It can be a little pricy but it is the best. My favorite pizza is the quattro formaggi pizza. It has four cheeses garlic and parsley.

I stop at Ella's every time I'm in DC.: This place is great. The pizzas are made with the most delicious combinations of fresh ingredients. Even diet-conscious people like myself can go here and enjoy some great pizza and a few cocktails. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the bar area is very nice.

Ella's pizza is ok, but not the best I've ever had. There is much better pizza out there. Quite frankly, DC's pizza scene is rather bland; though, I haven't eaten at every pizzeria in the area. If this is considered the best pizza in DC, then DC's got some work to do.

Had Lunch of a mixed green salad and the Penne Pasta. Salad was one of the best that I have had the opportunity to eat. Not overloaded with goo or other items. The Chicken in the Penne Pasta was very tender the Pasta and sauce was very good. Take your out of town visitors to this place and they will love you for it.

A bit expensive but the best place we ate during our trip to Washington. The pizza had very fresh toppings.

I wouldn't order the pumpkin soup again (a bit bland) but the entrees were well proportioned & the pizza crust crispy to perfection.

The crusts are thin and crisp and lightly salty but they lack the air pockets and variations in texture that make for memorable pizza. And what does it matter if the toppings are good and fresh if they slide off the crust as soon as you...
